Happy Thanksgiving to all the couples who are spending this one, as their first, since being married. No matter what life deals us, we always have something to be grateful for. I am definitely grateful for family, friends and for all the couples that honoured me with being a part of their wedding planning and of course their most special day. I am finished weddings for this year , as I don’t take winter weddings due to flu/ cold season,hubby is a dialysis patient, so I don’t like to take the extra risk during the winter season, of so many bugs floating around. Looking forward to Spring/Summer 2024, and the many couples that I will get to spend time planning their most anticipated day of celebration. Happy 🦃Turkey 🦃day everyone!

A beautiful end of August wedding in a courtyard downtown. Nicole and Joel went through more changes than any couple I have ever had. Between venue changes, managers and contact people changing positions, resulting in new contacts, it was a lot. Finally everything falls into place, and on the most beautiful day, for this beautiful couple. The Murray Premises Courtyard adds an almost European feel. With its expansive brick walkway, white concrete walls, and brick backdrops of the surrounding buildings, it’s just a slice of pretty, downtown. Add white tenting , (a dance floor for later) beautiful ceremony chairs ,laid out in a curve, an abundance of real florals, and an aisle and you have a ceremony space. After the ceremony, the interior of the tent, is flipped into a dining area where guests are served the most scrumptious foods supplied by Scott and his crew from Coffee Matters, he simply is just the best, with the best team.The food was amazing, add a three tiered cake made by Petite Sweet ( love seeing this girl show up at my weddings) and the most delicious cookies laid out on the Thank you table, and you had the start to a beautiful evening. The groom and his groomsmen love to fish, so what do guys who love to fish, wear in place of boutineres, they wear hand tied flys! They were absolutely stunning, and so unique.What do the guys do on the morning of the wedding, they go jigging for cod of course, which was a good thing because they had a fresh cod for the screech in that evening! The brides gorgeous girls wore black and were all visions of beauty. With an outdoor bar set up by Gypsy Tea Room staff, ( Doug you were amazing to deal with) guests were able to roam about the courtyard . Whether under the tent or outside of it. Nicole and her decor team, Design In Colour Event Decor transferred this location into a dream. After the screech in, which the CFA’s (come from aways) did amazing and kissed the fresh cod and drank the screech, everyone was ready to dance the night away. Nicole and Joel , I loved meeting your beautiful girls. You had such a busy week, flying in on Monday, rehearsal on Thursday, wedding Saturday then back home to Nova Scotia. It was my privilege to spend the day with you, your families and friends, it never gets lost on me, that I get to spend the day with you on one of the most treasured days you will ever have.

What can I say about this couple? First of all, every couple is special to me. I am 100% in, I want your day to be everything you wanted, and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is. This couple, was a little extra special to me. Scott was 17 years old and along with his dad, gave up his week nights and weekends to coach my son and a group of young boys in softball. Lacey , the stunning bride went to school with my son, along with some of the bridesmaids. Fast forward and these two lovebirds , along with sweet Charley’s help , decided this was a love , to last forever. These two come from the best families, and have the best friend group…you know the ones , who always have their back, and are always there to support them and cheer them on.
On a beautiful August day, with their ceremony at Holy Trinity in Torbay and a reception in Flatrock, it was a day filled with emotion and so much love. (Have a peak of the first dance, and watch till the end, warning, have your tissues ready)
It was my honour and privilege Lacey and Scott to be with you on your wedding day, it was the best day, with the best people, oh and a shout out to Noel as the MC, best job ever, seriously he could be hired out, as a full time gig. Thank you again, some of my most favorite wedding moments will come from your day.

Gabbie and Troy….one thing I learned about this couple, they can go with changes. From their original DJ getting Covid 2 days before the wedding( which he lined up a replacement immediately) to a change in the original church vision, to day of changes…this couple rolled with it. Troy is Gabbie’s calm, and the love they have for one another is evident. With two of the best moms and two incredible families, these two are a force to be reckoned with. The groom is an avid user of excel😄and is organized beyond a fault, no wonder he works daily as a project manager. His lovely wife is a nurse, and she must have had a calling for this profession, as she is so caring of all those who surround her.
The church filled up quickly for an early ceremony on Friday afternoon, that was officiated by Father Peter from Trespassey, who I have to add has the nicest Irish accent, and has known all the grooms family for years. The Ballroom looked like a fairytale, with candlelight in abundance, and a crowd who were ready to hit the dance floor, no waiting with this group, for guests to get on the floor!
Gabbie & Troy, I want to thank you both for including me in your special day, it went by so quickly, and it was a pleasure to assist you , with your wedding day. Congratulations and wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and love.

Happy 1st Anniversary Amanda and Danny. After Covid delays, you guys waited it out, so you could have the wedding you dreamed of. It was the best day, super warm but amazing! You were surrounded by so much love, there was no denying this was meant to be. Wishing you many more years of wedded happiness❤️

Julia and Sam…what an amazing day yesterday. I absolutely adore you both. My day started with Julia ,her squad, her lovely mom and mom in law, at The Willow Room. The environment was filled with love for this lovely bride, her squad….just amazing! They took care of their girl, they danced( Julia had prepared an upbeat playlist of all her favourites)made sure she had everything she needed. Listening to the stories of girl guide camp, and high school anecdotes were absolutely the best, their love for Julia was apparent.

I then moved onto to Bannerman Brewery to make sure everything was on track and on the scheduled timeline.
MAKEvents were the decor masters of this location. Maricel and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. I cannot say enough good things about them. They set up for the ceremony and we’re back right after the ceremony for our room flip to reception. They are just the best to work with, and have the most gorgeous candles, I have ever seen.

The guests were treated to the most talented Venessa Goodyear Harp and Piano Music as she played the baby grand piano with beautiful notes that filled the space. Note: Venessa also played all the entrance music for the bridal party and the brides entrance.

When Sam and groomsmen arrived, I went down to say hello, and Sam asked how Julia was that am, I said she’s awesome, and there was a lot of dancing with her girls and her mom, he said , I’m so glad she’s having the best day, this sentiment was repeated by the groomsmen, they weren’t just Sams guys but Sam and Julia’s guy squad.They were taken into the taproom and had time to chill, relax and have a cold one before they made their way upstairs to the ceremony.
When it was time, I went and got the guys, and a brief moment to line up , take a breath for their entrance to the ceremony,one of the groomsmen had tears in his eyes as they made their entrance.The love for Sam is apparent.

The stunning bride was outside and I escorted her and the girls in, lined up and they make their entrance. Julia enters the room on her handsome dads arm. I say it everytime, as I fluff out the dress before the entrance or walk down the aisle, I get a lump in my throat…it’s like they are one of your own.

The shortest sweetest ceremony, small tech glitch and they were off and running. Their officiant was Jane Morgan and she hands down knows how to how make everyone feel relaxed and super comfortable.
Bob from Jane Morgan’s Music kept the floor hopping with all their favorite tunes. ( See you next Friday, Bob)

Guests left and congratulated the couple on the way out, the room gets emptied quickly for the room flip this way.

Bridal party left for photos , while room flip is completed and decor is redistributed,cake is displayed and the most amazing desserts by Petite Sweet, note the beautiful handcrafted cake stand made by the brides uncle, complete with lighting under the top two tiers.

Reception starts promptly at 6 pm, with scrumptious charcuterie trays, then a hot service of platters and platters of delectable finger foods by Peter Wedgewood and his team.

Speciality dances and the heartfelt toasts ran right on time with the party starting promptly at 8:00 pm.

Julia and Sam, thank you so much for including me in your day, I wish you years and years of happiness and all the love the world has to offer.

What an amazing day July 29th was with Alicia & Dylan. When Alicia contacted me last year, they were living in Toronto, fast forward to the end of 2022, they moved home to NL , bought a house, new job, and let’s plan a wedding!
While all this might have intimidated some, this girl was on board to do it all.
Her plan was a relaxed vibe and they just wanted to spend time with family and friends.They wanted to dance, celebrate and have the best party.
Alicia and Dylan got married on the tour dock , with the aisle flanked by gorgeous wooden benches. There was a bar where guests could grab a cold drink as they sat and awaited the beautiful bride. The handsome groom got to mingle and greet guests as they arrived.
As I fluffed her dress and spread out her stunning pearl adorned veil, I said to her, look at all the people that have come here to watch you and Dylan get married…. as she descended the ramp on her handsome dads arm , all eyes were on her, at the bottom off the ramp, her mom was there to also walk with her and her dad. What she didn’t get to see was all the tears as she walked the aisle to meet her groom.I had never seen so many happy tears from all the guests, this couple is truly loved by many.
I then ran down to Quidi Vidi to set the mood and decor for their reception.
Alicia had chosen three beautiful scented candles that were lit just before everyone arrived, the soft scent was gorgeous as guests entered the space.
The strings of Edison lightbulbs were accented by the soft glow of candles that were lit and spread throughout the venue.
With the most food I have ever see at a wedding, kudos to Nam Jim for the most appetizing menu.
The cake table was draped with sheer fabric that puddled on the floor, with the prettiest two tier cake.
Her signage/ card table was covered in white linens, with personal photos on top of a wooden box to give height, but their guest signage was the star. They had six bottles of wine, one for each of the first 5 anniversaries and one for their tenth, guests signed the backs of the anniversary bottle on a white blank label. It was such a special touch.
I set out tons of cupcakes, and Craig’s cookies(the couple adore these cookies) and it was amazing, they even had a late evening menu from Quidi Vidi Brewery.
This wedding was planned with intent of spending time with those they loved, the bride changed into a stunning jumpsuit, and was ready to party the night away.

Two weekends in a row, with Jordan Light & Sound, as usual, the floor was filled,they are just awesome at what they do.
The super talented Nicole from Nate and Nicole Photography was their to capture every moment.

Congratulations Alicia Rae and Dylan , it was a pleasure to spend this day with you both. Your journey is just starting and it’s going to be amazing.

My beautiful bride and groom from this weekend past. Congratulations Neil & Dawn, it was a pleasure to work with you both. Jordan Light & Sound kept everyone on the floor dancing all night long.
I worked with Dawn many years ago, and was so happy when she contacted me to assist with her wedding.
If you were lucky enough to be a guest on their special day, you saw that this man is head over heels in love with his bride.
His speech to her and about her, gave away for lots of teary eyes in the room. This is what weddings are about, these two waited for their soul mate to come along…and it was definitely worth the wait according to the smiles on their faces the entire day❤️

I was talking to a co- worker about upcoming wedding season, and how excited I was for it to begin. I told her that one of my fav moments of the day is the seconds before it’s time to walk the aisle ,it’s final check to make sure everything is in place, fluff of a dress, straighten a tie, wait for their cue and then they take a breath and begin the walk to the love of their life. Some shed a tear, some shyly smile at everyone as they walk , and some just stare ahead at the person who is waiting for them.The one person who loves them more than anyone else, the person who they have chosen to spend the rest of their life with, and their day is finally here….and between me and you, after everyone of them start their walk down the aisle, I have a lump in my throat, it’s as if, they were one of my own….

It truly is the best feeling, and a privilege, to do what you love ❤️.

Taking a short break from admin work and vendor contact, and opening some happy Sephora mail. In my rolling tote , I always carry a make up case and perfume for touch ups, you may never need them , because your make up artist’s are amazing. Maybe mom or a junior bridesmaid initially didn’t want make up , then decided they they like a little something, if so we have it.Just received two new Morphe palettes, they are stunning., and of course if you or the girls or the moms forgot about a scent, I got you covered. Just added Thierry Mugler’s Angel, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs to my bag.Of course never hurts to have a few essentials on hand like Charlotte Tillbury Setting spray, and single use applicators for gloss . It’s almost wedding season, and I can’t wait!

For the smaller weddings, I love this venue. I have had 5 events at this venue and it is a hidden gem for a bring your own catering/ food service and BYOB venue. While this was not my client, I had to share because I love how Margaret transformed this location.

On this super chilly day, it is definitely a stay in day, with a hot cup of chai tea, and work on wedding binders. Every couple has a binder with each email and message printed with updates and sorted according to subject tabs, everything in one place.Now, I can’t wait for Winter to depart and see all these lovely couples get married.

Dropped down to the NL Craft Council Christmas fair at Jack Byrne arena. I have recommended Gidget Sews business, quite often for custom flower girl and ring bearer gifts.While chatting with her this afternoon, she commented that she would love to do a custom doll/ keepsake using a wedding dress, I was thinking about this on the way home, and thought what an amazing idea, even if you incorporate your veil into a custom doll/keepsake❤️ Check out this amazing artisan.

When planning your wedding, you may hear the term, “Day of Coordinator” and wonder, do I need this? What do they do? As wedding season , winds down, and I thought, why not share some of my unplanned tasks this past year. Sewing a bride into her dress, straps were too loose (travel bride)and we promptly sewed her in her, no more falling straps, and she smiled through it all. Sewed a groomsman pants, he bent over and oops he had a little too much ventilation, front to back😮I had my sewing machine in my suv, and brought it in, 10 mins later he was good to go, with instructions not to bend😉Taped a bride with hydro flex med tape( in my rolling tote) as she developed itchy rash from the cutlets(after getting dressed)Tied a bow tie,taped heels of bridesmaids, who developed blisters,
reglued nails, and replaced lashes.These were some of the unexpected fun bits I did, and I loved every minute of it, because no matter what happens, I can fix it or come up with a solution. Along with seeing all the beautiful couples, I got to love on a doodle after he completed his ring bearer duties. After he walked the aisle, I took him to the back to sit with me, of course, knowing he was going to be my buddy, I had treats for him, with mom and dads permission.I love all dogs,so this was a big “yes” for me, when asked if Icouldpossibly watch him. So while developing timeline, call sheet for vendors and maintaining that timeline is of the utmost importance,there will always be the unexpected that happens, and for those times, your Dayof Coordinator will resolve it, and have the day proceed like there were no hitches at all. To all the lovely couples who are entering the planning process, enjoy it to the fullest. It really, will be the best day ever❤️

If possible, I often suggest that my wedding couple enter their reception venue through another entrance other than the main, so they can step back and view their venue, a sneak peak if you will, on their own.They get to see the venue, and take in all the details that they carefully have picked through their planning process.Even with guests on site, they get to take a brief moment together and view the venue, that will host their wedding festivities.

I am so in love with the idea of the wedding couple’s family sitting on the opposite side of their family member who is getting married. While it is awesome in thought, to sit as the parent and family on one side behind where your loved one stands, why not switch it up and sit on the opposite side, so when the couple turn to face one another to say their vows, you can actually see your daughters/ sons face as they say their vows to their life partner vs seeing the side and back of your loved one. After all, this is the day they planned for, with every little detail covered, wouldn’t it be nice to actually see her/ him front on ,as they say those most important words….❤️

Did you know, that I arrive with my rolling tote carry all , and it literally has everything you may need on your wedding day from umbrellas,to hairspray, sewing kit with colors of thread to match your bridal party dresses, hand held fan for those moments you may need a little air, mints, mouthwash spray, new toothbrushes, in case you forgot or need to brush before we leave. Bobby pins, lip gloss with disposable applicators, pain relievers, nail polish, nail glue, extra floral pins for boutonnières and even more! Oddly, I never pack this well ,when on vacation for myself🤦‍♀️
