She’s definitely not lying about Maryland. So many opportunities, just have to move around to find them. Don’t give up Queens & Kings. Your destiny is your determination & your determination leads you to your true destination. Life isn’t promised to be easy. The easier you make life by accepting that hard times aren’t meant to be sad just because it’s hard the more you grow and make life easier. It takes maneuvering to do so. Take it easy loved ones. Day by day is all it takes. Work hard on you and don’t beat yourself up. Get back up fight hard for your happy continuing future and always remember the sad harder times are only temporary when you’re determined to build a happier future! Amen 🙏🏾💖🥰🤗🏆💯 God is Good! 💖💖💖

When I was just 22 years old, I moved to Maryland to start a new job as a co-anchor on WJZ-TV. And as I walked around the city of Baltimore that first week, I saw the strangest thing: my face on billboards advertising the 6 o’clock news with Jerry Turner, and a question, “What is an Oprah?” And honestly, I didn’t really know the answer myself. When I moved to Maryland, I had no idea who I was. But I will tell you something: Maryland is where I found myself.

Maryland is something special. A place where so many others have done, and will do, what I did: Plant the seeds of their wildest dreams, and watch them grow into reality. Maryland is full to the brim with opportunity. That was as true back then as it is now. And I know that, with Wes Moore as your governor, Maryland’s best days lie ahead. Wes has been a public servant his whole adult life—and he's just getting started. Today, it was an honor to introduce Wes Moore, a man I believe in and a man I respect, at his inauguration for Maryland's new governor. Thank you for having me with your wife, Dawn, and children, Mia and James.

Amazing opportunities for Artists 💖💖💖

*GRANT OPPORTUNITY*

The City of Hagerstown has launched a Heart of Art Grant Program, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which is focused on providing opportunity to local artists to showcase and sell their work in the Hagerstown Arts & Entertainment District. The goal is to bridge the gap of connecting artists with customers, to lift the burden of paying a vendor fee to attend an event, and to ensure the artists will receive payment after each market.

GRANT AMOUNT
Grant recipients will receive $100 for each event attended, for a maximum of up to 10 events totaling $1,000. All vendor fees will be waived for grant recipients.

APPLICATION PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Complete the Heart of Art Grant Application and provide two or more requested photos.
2. Return completed application and required documents via email to [email protected] or in person/mail to 1 E Franklin Street, Suite 210A, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
3. All applications must be submitted for consideration no later than February 23, 2023.
4. All applications shall be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
5. Staff will review the application and supporting documents to determine the eligibility and level of funding that may/may not be awarded.
6. Approved applicants will receive a Letter of Approval from the City of Hagerstown with confirmation of event dates.
7. Grants will be paid in $100 installments following the attendance at an event.
8. The City will issue a 1099 form following grant disbursement, and the grant may be taxable based on that year's State and Federal tax guidelines.
