Dear all,

We are heartbroken to have to tell you that after months of planning, we have come up against insurmountable obstacles in our ability to put on Fiesta de Los Tentaculos this weekend.
We are no longer able to use the lush festival site we had booked and due to the timescale we are unable to find another venue at such short notice.

There was no way of knowing that this would be the case until late yesterday evening. We have exhausted all possible options in the last 24hrs, doing everything in our power to fight for this event to happen.

Due to family reasons the landowner had to fly out of the country and subsequently has not been onsite. Last Friday the police stopped what they deemed an illegal rave from taking place on his land. These unforeseen events and the aftermath have led to the landowner asking us to call off the event for a combination of factors that are simply beyond our control.

We worked extremely hard for months behind the scenes, wanting to create a special event after the incredibly hard 18 months everyone has been through.

Everything was in place for an amazing weekend and to say we're gutted is a huge understatement. We're so sorry to each and every one of you, as we know just how much we're all in need of a big fiesta!!

Looking forward, there is much we can take from this experience. The team we have created and what we have put together will not be shrinking away, but immediately looking forward to next year in order to create something even bigger and better.

We will be issuing refunds to everyone straight away and would like to thank you ALL for supporting us in our quest to create a magical event. It seems that it just wasn't meant to be... This year.

The most frustrating part of it all is that it wasn't even Covid that stopped it!!

🥳💃🕺... Hi all, we've had quite a lot of people asking for info about all aspects of when, how and why things are going to be happening at the Fiesta de los Tentáculos lately!

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. No, unfortunately not - due to livestock surrounding the site, the landowner has specified that this is a total no go, so please don't bring one!

Q. Can I bring my live-in vehicle?
A. Yes you can and you don't even need to pay extra! Live ins will be separate from tent camping however – It’s easier and safer that way.

Q. Will the event be child friendly?
A. We would hope so! It is only small and not specifically aimed at children, but there are going to be workshops for kids and fun to be had for all ages! Children do need responsible adult supervision however and please bear in mind that after the sun goes down and the party gets on, there may be scenes of adults enjoying themselves that you might rather your children didn't observe!

Q. Do I need to buy my child a ticket then?
A. No, kids under 16 years of age are free this year, but as mentioned above they do need responsible adult supervision!

Q. Will we need to be double jabbed to get in?
A. No, we do not support the proposed vaccine apartheid. People will not be asked to have been double (or single) jabbed to gain entry to our event - this is against everything that a free society stands for. Everyone should have a choice over what is put into their own bodies and not face discrimination for putting or not putting things into them! (In this context at least!)

Q. ...So will we need a vaccine passport, a test or what then?!
A. It seems like the most sensible way to go about things is to ask everyone to provide evidence of a negative lateral flow test at the gate, whether jabbed or un-jabbed. As we have seen very publicly with the health secretary in the last week or so, having had the jab is no actual guarantee that you will not contract or carry the virus anyway… thus this seems the most sensible course of action for ALL to take. Please bring evidence of a clear test from within 24 hours before arrival. These tests are available for free from all chemists and results can be sent to your phone following the on-screen instructions at https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

Q. When does the Fiesta start and when can I get on site?
A. The gates will be open from 2pm Friday 13th August and music is programmed from 5pm... Please don't arrive any later than midnight as the gate will be shut! It's also a lot easier to show people what's what (and to put up a tent) by daylight!

Q. Are there day tickets for this event?
A. Nope sorry! We're confident that this event is going to sell out and it's really just an additional headache.

Q. What else will there be to do onsite?
A. We have all kinds of activities and fun things lined up in our workshop tent... everything from crafting to beatboxing to storytelling to yoga, we also have puppet shows, circus workshops, a live graffiti wall, a fire pit, freewheeling freestyle jams, open mic, Kings of Ping bringing their flamboyant tournoi de table tennis and more (if you need it!)!! You can also hike straight out into the national park (just don't get lost...!) Plus … we hear that there's a great spot to take a dip in a stream very close by if the sun comes out to play!

Q. Will there be cash machines on site?
A. No, we are only very small so please bring as much cash as you think you might need for the weekend!

Q. What is the phone signal like there?
A. Pretty patchy - EE seems like the best network; others may have little or none!
