It is a difficult time for all those in the wedding industry who are being impacted. Because we all are. We all struggle with most of our weddings being postponed, which puts incredible financial strain on businesses.

Allow me to share a very long and likely uninteresting list of enjoyable things that have fulfilled me these past few weeks:⁣⁣

▪️Plants 🌱 - I’ve been growing my veggies and flowers indoors so they can be ready to be transferred into the garden (if the snow ever decides to F off!)⁣⁣
⁣
▪️ Animals 🐶🐱🐱🐰🐔🐔🐔🐔 Lots of snuggling and walks lately. Oh, and staring out the window, the chickens are quite entertaining...⁣⁣
⁣
▪️ My significant other. We haven’t killed each other yet, and we’ve both been home for about a month now. Let’s just say there has been a lot of “me drafting and him building”. Bonus for all you couples who are looking for cute treat displays!⁣⁣

▪️ Baking. I will come out of quarantine with a little more to love, if ya know what I mean.⁣⁣

▪️ Wine. And more wine. 🍷 I used to be a white wine kind of gal, and now I’m both. So there’s a plus. ⁣⁣

I talk a lot about personalizing your wedding. My most favourite weddings are those who reflect the couple and you can so obviously tell that much time and thought was put into the entire planning of the day.⁣
⁣
This beautiful bride, had lost her grandfather. ⁣
Her grandfather, who was very dear to her, loved to collect bells, and had quite the collection.⁣
⁣
To honour him, every table incorporated a few bells, to be used as kissing bells. A lovely message was beautifully tied to the bells, describing what they meant to the couple.⁣

To “First Look” or not?⁣

Although this is 1000% all about preference, there are certain factors that can influence the decision on whether or not to do a first look, or stick to the tradition. ⁣

First looks are often preferred when planning your wedding day timeline. Perfect for later ceremonies, this allows the proper amount of time to take all the necessary photos PRIOR to the wedding ceremony, without feeling rushed to get the dinner started.⁣
⁣
Since the photos are taken directly after hair&makeup and not after a long (potentially sweaty) ceremony, you will look hella fresh in all your photos! ⁣
⁣
It also allows you to enjoy your cocktail hour with your favourite people!⁣
⁣
But don’t be fooled, we all love the tear jerking photos of your groom’s reaction when he first sees you walk down the aisle. There is something overly romantic about the moment you both lay eyes on each other for the first time. ⁣

Meet The Planner

Let me introduce myself! My name is Valerie and I am your typical hopeless romantic. I have worked extremely hard to turn my passion into a career. Starting my own side hustle at only 22 years of age, I had NO IDEA what I was getting myself into. Fast forward 4 years - I couldn't be happier! I have the most fabulous job in the universe. I mean, who wouldn't want to help brides walk down the aisle on a weekly basis?! This process has taught me so much; the most important thing in the world is to do what you love. Life is too short to be unhappy!

When I'm not busy gardening or hanging out with my crew of animals, you can find me in my craft room working on my latest DIY project.

I always ask couples late in the evening on their wedding day: “Was this the best day of your life?” They always say yes. This is how I know I’m doing my job! You put so much time and money into making sure it’s perfect, let me take over while you relax and make sure it is, in fact, the best day of your lives.
