I know. It’s been a minute, but I just thought I’d post and check in again!

As two Mom Bosses running independent business’ to Deco-crate it is really hard to maintain social media. We are still here, offering beautiful charcuterie spreads, event design, and dreaming up the possibilities with you!

You will see pivoting but with the respect for those who have supported and celebrated with us we wanted to ensure you had a way to find us if you need us ❤️ Come say Hi, and thank you for always dreaming and creating with us!

Ever Growing, Always Learning.

It’s a thing we say around here. Deco-Crate has been apart of so many special moments and created the most beautiful scenery. We take pride in what we do and love designing with those who appreciate the art. As we conversed in our morning meeting this morning it was said that we don’t want to event plan, what we really aim for is designing moments. We want to dream in the moment that you will remember for decades to come. We aren’t driven by the timelines but rather that perfect picture every bride wants to achieve so her grandkids one day swoon over it. The details that matter, the geometry that supports structures, and the heart that holds the tender moments as you celebrate is what matters, YOU matter. Thank you for allowing us to be with you

Most of our work time together is fun,
But sometimes we have to actually force ourselves to focus to get through it all.

Brigette and Carianne together are a fierce duo. When working with us you get a crazy balance of all ideas, dreams, and collaborations that are completely different, yet perfectly complimentary and in sync.

Several years ago we were new parents in school and I desperately wanted some festive decor. I admired every aisle planning what my home would look like if I had the budget. That year in desperation I think I spent $5 at the dollar tree and then I took my two kids to the park. We scavenged for pine cones from a tall tree, loading up a grocery bag and took them home: I then had my toddlers roll them in glue and then glitter, because that’s what Pinterest Moms made look easy. It wasn’t easy, it was a mess and I wouldn’t recommend, but to this day these pinecones still grace my decor every year for fall and Christmas.

My seasonal decor has evolved for many years now and I could have eliminated them awhile ago, but I won’t ever have the heart to let them go. Putting them out today reminded me of the days when these simple pinecones created the magic, but also reaffirmed that the magic still returns every fall….. when I pull out my glittered pinecones.

1 year ago today we held an open house for Deco-Crate LLC. It was a fun night with many vendors, fun food, and we had a great turn out.

1 year ago we had different plans for DC. Big plans, but they looked different. 1 year ago today though we were supported and loved by our closed family, friends, and industry professionals and it launched us into new dreams, ambitions, and opportunities.

1 year ago today, we vulnerably put ourselves out into the world to show them that we are creative, needed, and ready to be who we are today.

Tomorrow we take on a multi-event day with a staff of 12 and we are ready. DC has done big things in a years time, but
1 year ago today, we took our first step into the great things we will show you tomorrow.

With a big new equipment piece arriving from we got to work to design this cute space for . Immediately we sorted wants/needs, Here’s how it went.

8:00 CG decided at to drop children at school and renovate her she-shed. Calls on some design thoughts and formulates budget which by the way is about $75.
9:00 Arrive at and head straight to wallpaper. This will fill in this fun space with texture and design with in a short amount of time.
9:15 Find wallpaper and realize there are some cute designs with new peel and stick line! They vary in price, but I know I need an accent wall to break this up so to paint I go before deciding on wallpaper.
9:30 Find the ooops paint shelf and all they have is a quart of black paint for $2.50. Yes 🙌🏻 this I I can work with.
9:40 head back to wallpaper to now match a paper with my 2.50 paint. Secure my wallpaper and head to checkout.
9:50 Get distracted and talk to cashiers about this big plan.
10:00 out the door with a receipt for paint, a brush, and wallpaper $48.49
11:00 Get to work with clean out. Mop all walls, wipe down cabinets, shoot. I need somewhere for this heat press that’s useable. Will come back to that.
12:00 go pickup around one of kids
12:30 clean up complete, paint black
1:00 question my decision, but no turning back now. Embrace it.
2:30 pickup round two of kids
3:00 apply wallpaper.
4:00 realize I’m out of paper and I only have basket area to finish. Decide with big pieces there you won’t see it anyways and don’t want to invest another $42.
5:00 find a leftover can of white paint, freshen up light areas.
5:30 head to goodwill to find decor And find the perfect microwave cart to hold heat press on right side.
6:30 spend another $26 on pizza and goodwill and head home to finish shop.
7:00 spray paint microwave cart to match, collect extra decor from inside home. Now I don’t have to store it . Winning.
7:25 Finish up but realize I NEED to I order a picture of my girls from Walgreens and mat in a frame I already have.
8:00 Sit back, admire, and start daydreaming about all the magic this space will create.

What a difference a backdrop makes.
A simple backdrop can highlight any event in all the best ways. Adding a backdrop also has the ability to change the size of the room and create more intimate spaces.

Food is a bit of a love language around here. Grazing tables have been a strong request and we definitely have loved the challenge of putting together art in food form. Our tables have all been unique and vary in style as at times we have had all control, and others no control in the shopping list. This baby shower provided all the fresh goodness and sweet treats you would hope to have at a spring lunch.

Greenery is all the romantic feel these days 🍃
Every event we have collaborated on has had the same request, lots of greenery. An easy way to achieve this is to use a standard greenery garland and fill with live stems. This not only creates the illusion but it also brings the scent of fresh as well. The wired faux garland also helps with flexibility in movement and shape of your greenery.

16 feet Of grazing goodness coming right up. This grazing table had salty, sweet, savory, and more. Our Mom of Bride did an excellent job shopping and we loved designing and displaying this work of art to be quickly enjoyed by guests. There wasn’t a single view without something I would want to sample and it’s variety pleased everyone throughout the evening. ✨

Can you even handle the cuteness of these lighted L•O•V•E letters? These were in our drive by reel and a little teaser since they are new to our shop! They can be placed directly in the ground but for this event we were so excited to hang them on our brick wall for a new look to the most gorgeous grazing table. More pictures to come this week with the details on the beautiful evening.

We are all about party spaces this week. Setting your porch up so it’s cozy to your home but inviting for any celebration is key in any outdoor entertainment space. I desperately needed somewhere to sit on this amazing shaded porch I have. Patio furniture is pricey but just overall didn’t seem like the right fit for our younger family. We bought a porch swing but quickly realized placement and size blocked views of lightning storms on rainy nights and versatility or direction . That’s when it came to us! Let just build swings big enough for two!

The kids are so excited and now I need help!

I need to finish these cute swings somehow! Do I paint, stain, just seal? I have a lot of things to consider. In Arizona dark stain is as good as black leather interior in the bum in July! Last week we did a reel of this super cute drive by Wedding reception. We were so excited to be apart of this special evening. As you drove by it was fun to play “I spy” with all of our rentals.
