On this day, we take a moment to remember our founder, an icon for golf development in Zimbabwe.

Over the past year, his family and friends have continued to lay the foundation in the work of keeping his ambitious dreams for the game of golf alive. We encourage all other golfers in Zimbabwe to carry forward the vision for a more inclusive and sustainable sport.

Let’s dream big and invest in the next generation of golfers that will one day fly the Zimbabwe flag high on the international stage. Let’s leave no one behind. Making the sport of golf accessible to not just the haves but also the have nots. Everyone deserves to have the opportunity to enjoy the sport and learn from the incredible character-building disciplines that all can learn from playing the game.

Today, we take a moment to pay a tribute to the founder of MARUSP. In January, we lost a great visionary. A man of courage, integrity, humility, passion, and compassion. Through his tireless commitment to furthering the game of golf among the less-privileged, he created a spark that has turned into a bright light for the future of “elite” sports in Africa.

Mr. Mabikacheche created the foundation with a vision of giving back to the community by affording people living in rural areas similar opportunities that he was lucky to have through the exposure he had to golf later in his professional life.

He believed deeply in the power of sports to unlock a different path to prosperity that many would never be afforded without the dedicated effort he made to open the door for others to enter previously restricted arenas.

Mr. Mabikacheche was a pioneer on and off the golf course. His legacy will live on through the many contributions he made for the advancement of Africans.

The MARUSP community is committed to continuing on with his vision. We are excited to bring more people into the movement and to all work together to uplift those with less-opportunities available to them. The task is ours — the mantle has been passed on to the next generation of promoters.

Happy Nelson Mandela Day!

We believe in the peace, love, and joy that can be derived from sports. We are committed to promoting sport in Africa to contribute to a brighter tomorrow for the next generation. We are breaking barriers to accessing various sports disciplines .

Despite the current pandemic, we have innovated reach some young people in rural and underprivileged communities in Zimbabwe. This year, we are also building a program that can equally serve the disabled and women in the communities we work in.

Welcome to the MARUSP Golf Foundation page! We are excited to take you along with us to the rural and underprivileged communities in which we are spreading the game of golf.

We believe that golf can be a universal sport that instills valuable life skills for all and provides the opportunity for young people to enhance their career prospects. Since 1999, we have broken barriers for golf development in Zimbabwe.

Over the next twenty years, we plan to continue pushing boundaries and empowering people through the game of golf. We hope you will consider coming alongside us to achieve this mission.
