The digital era is shaking up our habits and our fields of perception. But the digital world is also an opportunity to rethink our artistic practices. It offers and puts forward new modes of representation but also of presence in the world. It represents a powerful tool which can, if it is mastered, encourage artistic proliferation, access to culture but also allow a greater richness and openness to the world and reach new audiences.

With guests Omar Rajeh et Mia Habis, founders of Citerne.live, Fu Le from Cie Tétrapode , Elodie Lefevbre – visual and video artist and Olivier Chervin, responsible for pedagogy, conferences and training at la Maison de la Danse.

Enter into the magical world of ​​​​​​​Jean-Luc Courcoult/ Royal de Luxe's last creation: "Le Bull Machin de Villeurbanne, grand prix de course de chiens* happening today in Villeurbanne in partnership with Pôle PIXEL and simultaneously on Citerne.live.

For three days, and within Villeurbanne, French Capital of Culture 2022, two giant dogs will evolve in the center of the city, and compete on the day of the grand prix. *Le Bull Machin de Villeurbanne, grand prix de course de chiens* is handled by a dozen people. Inspired by the adventures of Gulliver, the characters who accompany these dogs manipulate the machines, offer us a unique performance and truly bring these dogs to life.

For the occasion, Pôle PIXEL is also organizing workshops for students of the ARFIS school and with Pôle Emploi Scène et Images, supervised by Dr Laurent Antonczak and Antoine De Bièvre, professionals in mobile phone and drone filming. You can also follow the results of these broadcasts on Citerne.live!

📮 A Call for artistic creations for BIPOD & Citerne.live
👉🏼 Deadline for applications: 15 February 2022

Maqamat is launching an international call for artists and dance practitioners to submit their artistic projects for BIPOD 2022 – Beirut International Platform of Dance and the digital platform Citerne.live.

We are expecting to receive projects that could open a discussion about arts and culture today in relation to the artistic, the social and/or the political. How culture can intervene and engage in the social and the political without losing its artistic drive and questions.

We are looking for:

📎 Digital projects:
- From 10 to 40 minutes
- Interactive technology and digitally realized projects
- Artistic creations that are imagined for the digital and not considered for live spaces or - - live presentations.

📎 Site-specific dance projects:
- From 10 to 40 minutes
- Artistic creations that take place in site specific and/or non-dedicated performance spaces.
- Interact with their locality and urban environment.

Submitted works should be produced in 2021 or in the process of being developed and that could be ready before the end of April 2022. Selected projects will be granted a budget up to 3000 USD.

Materials and info requested to apply:
- Name of artist/company/city
- A descriptive file of the project (1000 words max.)
- Names and implications of all people involved in the project
- A complete video capture of the project if it was created.
- A production budget of the project or the financial conditions

Proposals must be sent by email to [email protected] Not later than the 15th of February.

Further detailed information will be requested from selected applicants only, in order to be considered for the final selection

BIPOD – Beirut International Platform of Dance is the first contemporary dance platform to be founded by Omar Rajeh | Maqamat in Beirut, Lebanon in 2004. The festival has created a significant presence for dance in Lebanon and became one the most important dance festivals in the region. It offers a rich international program of performances, debates, video dance, talks, lectures and workshops.

Citerne.live is a digital platform designed to serve as an artistic ‘safe hub’, and to propose a live streaming program of cultural events. It aims to present a rich artistic program with special attention to projects that were not able to be realized in their own cultural and social contexts, and that possess an esteemed artistic proposal.
