New Iberia Advent Activity Event

Today we have the spotlight on the AMAZING Mrs. Suzy Kimball. She is one of our Jolly Old St. Nick Sponsors for 2024!!!

Mrs. Suzy is an enormous asset to New Iberia. She is involved in so many of our community events and a sponsor for most of them. She loves to see our City thrive, and you can always catch her mingling at all of the local Fundraisers and fun events going on here in town.

With Mrs. Suzy's support we were able to do all of the following:
Provide supplies for the Gingerbread House Competition - including the boxes of houses and lots of toppings
Around the World Spain night - providing ALL of the supplies for decorating our Spanish Fan Christmas style!
Several of our prize bags for the Golden Ticket prizes at the end of our 21 days
Several of our treats at many events where we provided snacks and drinks
Extra costs of items that came up throughout all 21 days

We cannot thank Mrs. Suzy enough for all of her help, and it was also so great to see her attending several of our nights and having some Christmas fun herself!!

We are beginning a series of posts to thank our 2024 Sponsors and volunteers. Please remember, the only reason we could make all 21 days FREE for everyone is because of them! Please, please, please give back by supporting their businesses as well!

We truly have such a supportive and involved community here in New Iberia that step up to make us better. They don't hesitate and they have the same end goal...working to help our City thrive and become a spot that everyone else will want to visit and live!

You will NOT break me!!

I’m not sure what this person thought they were getting from inside. Some fake snow? Some 3D trinkets (though nicely made) with what the value?? Other than the fun of destruction?

Just wanted to leave the tree through this week’s holidays…I guess we should be thankful that it didn’t get touched during our 21 days, but this makes my Christmas heart sad.

I was one day too late picking it up. Was scheduled for tonight, and should’ve been yesterday apparently.

But you will not defeat me. You will not defeat Christmas. You will not take away the purpose of the Season, nor the purpose of our event. I believe in Christmas. I will not let go of hope for our City. I will not give in. I choose to never stop trying to make the difference, make improvements, and give to this community.

But my heart is sad

Day 21: Story time with Mrs Claus

Day 20 Our final movie night. And what better way to get ready for Santa Claus than with…The Santa Clause??!! We had popcorn, cold drinks, cocoa and lots of snuggle up. Great movie that everyone in the family likes!

Day 19 Gingerbread Competition
We had a full “house” for our construction night! So much creativity on items used we just loved it
Was so great this year to be able to provide every single kit and all ingredients thanks to our amazing sponsors!! Mrs Suzy Kimball and Mrs Lisa Lourd made this night possible! The Chamber of Commerce was a wonderful host and had the difficult job of judging! Thanks to everyone who came out

Our Head Elf may have forgotten to mention it during our live yesterday with all of her excitement, so we think he deserves his own thank you post!

Thank you to Mr. Chad Courtois, Advantaged Assets for being so patient, understanding and supportive of Teresa's vision. Not minding her absence during the 21 days and his generous giving to the cause by sponsoring so much of behind the scenes costs. He also didn't fuss too much with all of her supplies piling up and taking over the house as she prepared for all of the events! Mr. Chad is one of a kind...you never saw him shake his head with all of the craziness going on...he always greeted with a smile!

Today is our LAST event of this Advent season!!! Come visit with 🤶🏻Mrs Claus as she reads The Cajun Night Before Christmas. Bring your chairs, blankets and/or pillows to the Christmas tree in front of City Hall near the fountain this afternoon at 4pm. Mrs Claus will be available for photos as well.

Don’t forget to bring your Golden Ticket to be entered for our grand prize drawing!!! We will announce the winners tomorrow at our 11am live.

Day 21! Our final event - join us in front of City Hall near the Christmas tree for a reading of A Cajun Night Before Christmas with Mrs Claus. Feel free to bring your folding chairs and blankets. Help us wrap up a successful Advent season starting at 4pm. Treat bags will be provided for the kids.
