I took the week away from the noise of social media so I could tune into myself as everything was beginning to feel a little performative on here - it’s quite mad how we can unconsciously become part of it’s very fast slip stream, especially when you’re on high output mode and you’re using this platform to promote you, your work, your dreams!
To be open and honest at the start of the week I felt a little empty and could really feel its absence (even stranger that I had got to a point where it had that affect on me)! As I started to feel it out I realised that paired with the simple overuse (what needs regular work and tending) was actually something more profound, and that the feeling I was having was an absence of community, connection and communication.
Whilst our greatest expression and experience of dance music happens in the real world, most of it in terms of volume happens online - we spend so much time and energy creating, storytelling, messaging, cheerleading, sharing, inspiring, discovering on platforms such as this. To summarise so this post doesn’t become a bigger self-indulgent brain dump than it already is, I arrived at a point of high gratitude that most of the time these digital spaces are a great force in our lives, if used with intention and with consistent housekeeping - I’ve met so many great humans, discovered so much great art and artists and received so much opportunity, so thank you, truly !
Lastly and in ode to community, connection and communication, some of the great humans and moments from across the summer 💞 paradoxically going to be going back offline for a little while, it just right to share this now !

At the start of 2021 my sister, Daisy, was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away in July 2022, a few days before her 31st birthday
In today’s show me and Alice walk through my journey with grieving and healing so far, including some philosophical perspectives from me (shock), we reflect on some of my favourite memories with my sister, and also listen to some music that I have never shared with my sister before (and really wish I could) and music that has been important to my grieving process 🌼
It’s a very beautiful and moving show, and connecting with Alice whilst making this has just been lovely. I want to use the opportunity to say thank you to her for creating this space and for being the incredible, sensitive and beautiful human that she is

I am super excited to announce the first phase of the next series of events for Always Sunny!
From next week I will be hosting a guided meditation every Tuesday from 19:00 - 20:00 at the beautiful .h0me located at LimeWharf studios in Cambridge Heath
These meditation sessions are going to be completely free, forever. This is about creating a consistently safe and healing space that is accessible to everyone in the dance music ecosystem. I want this to be an opportunity for artists, promoters, bar staff, ticket scanners, door staff, welfare, label owners, a&r’s, agents, dancers, ravers, whoever, to be able to come together in a different context and make time and space for themselves to rest, to heal, to connect, to breathe, to be!
