Let’s be honest, having to use the bathroom is your wedding dress is cringe worthy. You spend a lot of time getting into it - the last thing you want to do it have to take it off.

I’ve had my fair share of helping brides use the bathroom in their dresses but this one tip has been the most successful ..

The easiest way to use the bathroom in your wedding dress is to sit on the toilet backwards, facing the wall.

Those dresses with a long train can then cascade down or your bridesmaids can help hold it for you.

This also allows your bridesmaids more room to hold your dress.

Plus, it’s a good photo op of you and your girls. 😘

Back in December, I had the privilege of doing Abbie’s sister’s wedding.

This past weekend I had the honor of doing Abbie’s wedding and it was the most beautiful day.

I’m ending my spring wedding season on cloud nine bc of how incredibly blessed I am. 🥹

I love all of my clients like they are family and it is always a blessing to get to be apart of such an important day.

Private Dinners 🤍

Three reasons why you should add this to your wedding timeline.


👉🏼 Enjoy your dinner

- Let’s be honest, the last thing you’re thinking about is eating on your wedding day. Many, if not all couples barely have time to eat during the reception. From dances, toasts, mingling with your guests, to taking pictures with them - there is barely time to enjoy your meal.

One reason to have a private dinner is so you can savor your meal bc after a long, potentially stressful day (unless you hired me 😉) - it will be nice to have a peaceful meal and enjoy the catering you chose.

👉🏼 Alone time

- One thing that is hard to come by on your wedding day is alone time. It’s all about you two, so take the time to savor that moment.

You only have one wedding day, so this private meal will give you and your spouse the moment to relax, finally eat, and take in that “OH EMM GEE we’re actually married” moment together before the partying starts.

👉🏼 Mingling with your guests

- In my past weddings, when clients chose not to do a private dinner - I learned that either they were bombarded by guests wanting to take pictures bc they weren’t staying for the reception or people were coming up to hug them and congratulate them while they tried to eat. Then, later on they’d come and tell me they wished they had at least taken 15 minutes for themselves.

Whether you choose to do a private dinner or not, as your coordinator, my staff and I always prepare the newlyweds food first before anyone else - then usually the bridal party begin dinner service through a buffet line or are served the plated meal first, followed by your guests.

Having already eaten allows you more time to mingle. Instead of eating during the reception, you and your spouse are available to greet guests, snap photos, and talk with family and friends.

👉🏼 Is a private dinner right for you?

- Ultimately the decision is up to you and your spouse. Amongst the stress of your wedding planning and the perfecting of all the details - don’t forget what your wedding is really all about: you and your spouse. If this alone time is really important to you before entering the reception, your bridal party and guests won’t mind letting you eat in private while they eat.

As your coordinator, I am solely invested in what you and your spouse want - so I will always do what is important to you, regardless. 🫶🏼


👇🏼Timeline Example with Private Dinner:

3:00 - Ceremony
3:25 - Es**rt Bride + Groom to a location away from guests to finish any final photos
3:30 - Cocktail Hour
4:25 - Bride + Groom’s meals plated and taken to location of choice for private dinner
4:30 - Reception begins (Buffet Style) while bride + groom eat
5:15 - Intro to reception begins (bridal party introduced + bride, groom)
5:20 - First Dances (bride + groom, father + daughter, mother + son)

This gives you a general idea of how the day flows with a private dinner. Of course, you don’t always have to take 45 minutes to eat. Sometimes my bride + groom take 15-20 minutes to themselves then go out and mingle with their guests while they eat.
