Ms Agnes Aigbogun Remembrance Ceremony of our late mother Madam Eihomon Aigbogun on Saturday 11th September 2021. Ms. Agnes is supported by her sister Mrs Racheal Obumese.
Due to a death in the family and passing of Chief Odigie Aigbogun the Ogungbengben of Igueben on Tuesday 7th September 2021 the ceremony had to be scaled down. As arrangements for the celebration on Saturday 11th September were already advanced and perishable goods and food already purchased Chief Irriah Aigbogun the Edionwere of Igueben (most senior chief) gave permission for those who felt able to attend on the day to do so.
In the videos as Ms. Agnes makes her way to the grounds of the mausoleum she is joined by members of the community who come out of their houses to accompany her and to make merry with her. These are mostly youngsters as most adults are still grieving the passing of Chief Odigie Aigbogun, the Ogungbengben of Igueben.

Ms. Agnes has provided raw food, raw meat, drinks and a DJ for entertainment. Together the community join in the eulogy of Madam Aigbogun. They then cook their food together using traditional methods. Then the merriment began. They eat, drink, sing and dance all day long in jollification. This method of supporting the celebrant has been in existence throughout Benin history as Chief Clemon Aigbogun Chief Ebenze of Igueben explained.

Chief Odigie Aigbogun the Ogungbengben of Igueben RIP.
