Happy Sunday barbecue fans! Our sincerest apologies, but BLAZIN' BAYOU BBQ ran into a handful of challenges this morning and getting to MARINA FARMERS MARKET a bit later than originally anticipated. We should be set up and ready to sell by noon. And, just a heads up, because of one of our challenges, we will not be serving brisket and will be substituting it with tri-tip instead. Again, our apologies to our loyal customers who come out earlier in In the day in order to purchase our menu items. You still have almost 2 hours left to check out the Salinas Valley Health (Memorial Hospital) Farmers Market on Romie Lane in Salinas. Market operates from noon until 5pm every Friday through November. You'll find organic produce, fresh flowers, craft pizza, agua fresca, desserts, kettle corn, potatoes & roasted corn, tacos, and US (BLAZIN' BAYOU BBQ) serving up some good ol' traditional Southern style BBQ (smoked brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, chicken quarters, Louisiana hot links, pork belly burnt ends, and bacon mac & cheese). So, if you have a chance, come on out and see us before market shuts down. Happy Hump Day SJB! Blazin Blazin' Bayou BBQ is coming off of a very slow Farmers Market and we still have barbecue available for anybody interested. We've got pork ribs by the rack, brisket by the pound, pulled pork by the pound, Louisiana hot links, smoked salmon, and bacon mac and cheese by the quart. So, if your on your way home from a long day at work and just don't feel like cooking, text or call Johnny at (831) 998-1084 to place your order.

Even if you're in the mood for something small like a brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, or mac and meat, you just might be able to talk me into it - just ask! Sorry, ribs are still only sold in full racks!

Happy Friday, SJB BBQ Fans! Blazin' Bayou BBQ will be at Bear's Hideaway tomorrow evening from 4:30pm to 7:30pm serving up some of our finest smoked barbecue. On the menu, you'll find smoked salmon sandwiches (6 oz of smoked salmon on a garlic roll topped with Chipotle remoulade and avocado), smoked tri-tip sandwiches (6 oz of tri-tip on garlic bread topped with pig l**e and horseradish with red onion and pickle), smoked pork spare ribs, and either bacon mac and cheese or smoked baked beans (TBD). So, be sure to put a little time aside to come on down to Bear's for a drink, a bite to eat, and a relaxing time out on the patio (now that the weather is getting warmer and the sun is setting later) - we'll be waiting for you!

FINAL UPDATE: Unfortunately, I went out to my truck to get something and, as I went through my front door, the pup bolted and took off down the street. I had been following him on foot, but couldn't keep up (just getting too old, I suppose). He ran down Fifth to the ball field, then cut back into the neighborhoods around my house. He was running through the neighborhoods as if he knew the area, so hopefully he's on his way home. At this point, there's not a lot more that could be done. A million thanks to all of you who stepped up In order to help out. It is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: This pup is still here. I kept him overnight in order to give the owner an opportunity to contact me. Still no word. But, I will not be able to keep the dog past 2:00 today. If nobody claims the dog, I will need to be forced to take it to animal control (something I've been trying to avoid). I have a job and cannot leave the dog here alone with my dog. My house is new territory for him and, although he's very friendly and personable, he's stressed out; has stressed my dog out; has peed on every piece of furniture and rug in my home; has kept me up all night whining, pacing, and jumping on and off my bed; and I've lost about 6 hours of work that needs to be made up before 5:00 today (which will be impossible and I don't get paid). I had to give him a bath last evening around 10:00 because, upon inspection, I realized his underside was extremely muddy with foxtails and other weeds buried into his fur (not to mention he smelled pretty bad), he was chewing on himself so I assumed he had fleas, and (when bathing him) he was very protective over his back left leg. there weren't any visible injuries, but he did growl at me every time I tried to wash that leg. So, he may need to see a vet. something else that may help identify him is he chatters his teeth and it looks like he's smiling (I've never seen a dog do this before and his teeth are so nice that they look fake!). Again, if anybody recognizes this dog, please let the owner know and/or contact me at the number in the post below. Please do not contact me through Facebook - I don't live on social media and will not get your message. Thank you for your assistance as I truly appreciate it!

It appears that the sun is finally going to be shining upon us this Saturday, so why not join us at MARINA KITE DAY on SATURDAY, APRIL 20th FROM 11:00am - 3:00pm at MARINA VISTA ELEMENTARY ARTS ACADEMY (390 Carmel Ave, Marina). There will be food, crafts, live music, and LOTS of kites! BLAZIN' BAYOU BBQ will be on site serving good ol' traditional BBQ hot off of the smoker. HAPPY FRIDAY BEER, WINE, & BBQ FANS! Due to unforeseen circumstances, BLAZIN' BAYOU BBQ will not be catering at BEAR's HIDEAWAY this evening. We WILL be there tomorrow, though, to serve lunch from noon until 2:00pm and dinner from 5:00pm until closing (or until sold out). We aplogize for any inconvenience we may have caused. BEAR's HIDEAWAY will still be open for business this evening offering the best beer, wine, and cigar selection in the this area. So, please make it a point to stop in and say hi to Lori!

Because of this unfortunate situation, we would like extend our smoked salmon special through tomorrow evening adding it tomorrow's dinner menu. The deadline for pre-orders is tomorrow (Saturday, April 6th) at 11:00am. Again, smoked salmon plates will be available during tomorrow's dinner schedule only and must be pre-ordered (see attached image for menu).

HAPPY THURSDAY, BEER, WINE, & BBQ FANS!! BLAZIN' BAYOU BBQ will return to BEAR's HIDEAWAY tomorrow evening
(that's Friday, y'all!) from 4:00pm until 8:00pm (or earlier if the food runs out). Our Friday night special this week will be SMOKED CAJUN SALMON (large 8 oz portion), BAKED POTATO, and CAJUN GREEN BEANS. But, all salmon plates MUST BE PRE-ORDERED as plates WILL NOT BE SOLD ON_SITE! Each plate is $40 and must be paid in advance when you pre-order (sorry, no refunds for cancellations or no shows). So, if you would like to order, please contact Johnny via email ([email protected]) or phone / text at (831) 998-1084. The deadline for orders is Friday, April 5th at 10am - THIS IS A STRICT DEADLINE. A lot of preparation goes into this, so, unfortunately, we need enough time to make this happen. Thank you for understanding. Oh, and before I forget, as usual Lori will have some great beer and wine to pair with the fare on hand.

We will also have the usual menu consisting of SMOKED PORK RIBS, SMOKED PULLED PORK, SMOKED BEEF BRISKET, SMOKED LOUISIANA HOT LINKS, and SMOKED CHICKEN QUARTERS on-site for sale.
