In season now and so pretty! As you can see, I am super proud to be growing these! Zinnias are one of my fave summer annuals by far and the new varieties are absolutely gorgeous! Will definitely be growing these in the future 🥰🌸✌🏻

I love seeing the change in flower varieties as the seasons change - here is a little snippet of some of the mid summer seasonal blooms we have growing in the flower fields with the last pic being a little succession sowing of cosmos to have ready for autumn 🌟💐✌🏻

For a while I have been a bit lost as to how to progress with the farm which can make it hard to stay focused and invested but I feel like I finally have a way forward and it is super energising and motivating for me. There are some big plans for the upcoming seasons and I can’t wait to see how they turn out. I hope you follow along!

Happy first day of 2025! We spent our day in the garden planting some seedlings for autumn cropping and setting up our mushroom logs with dowels from !! We are trialling enoki on poplar which is supposed to fruit in the cooler months, shiitake which is supposed to do really well on logs and we are also trying oyster mushrooms on pine because they are supposed to be able to eat just about anything 😅 I can’t wait to see how these go! I’ll be ordering some more dowels to finish up our logs and also want to try some other varieties on woodchip - looking forward to growing a mushroom empire! Wish us luck!!

Another beautiful day! A few things progressing on the farm today including strawflowers (finally!!) starting to put on growth, gomphrena taking off, roses and daisies looking lush AF and the berry harvests are continuing to roll in!! We also have a new expansion happening in the flower fields and we’ve just got some new seedlings in so I’ve got some Quash around the new plantings to help manage them! I can’t wait to fill in the new area and get more beautiful blooms out to florists and flower lovers alike!!

Around the farm today 🌟
We picked a few orders for our lovely florists and have some beautiful new varieties of flowers coming through including zinnias and lupins. We also have tonnes of fruits and veggies nearly ready (or ready) for harvest including blueberries, tomatoes and plums! We also had an early Christmas with the in-laws this weekend where they gave me some wonderful gifts! We all got to enjoy the sunshine anddddd we got a new addition to the farm today! Another little heifer has joined our farm - we need a name for her - if you have any ideas then please let me know!!

This week’s highlights: dahlias flowering, harvesting apricots, dog walkies, finding blueberries and strawberries in the garden,making bouquets and building a gingerbread house (lol don’t judge it pls). December continues to be great fun with plentiful food harvests and quality time with family and lush flower fields!! Thank you to the florists and flower lovers alike for your continued support of our flower farm 🌸💐🩷 we are supplying flowers all through the holiday season so please DM if you need (or want) some flower goodness these holidays! 🌟🎄✌🏻

Some highlights from around the farm today.
Dahlias blooming, fruit and veggies ripening, the feijoas are starting to flower, plenty of grass around for the boys and the evenings are perfect for walkies with the puppies!
Early summer is by far my favourite time of year. The harvests are beginning to roll in, the temperatures are warm and the days are long. Daylight is so important for my mental health - I get SAD (iykyk) when there’s not enough around so I really appreciate the extra hours of daylight we do get. I also feel like I can get plenty done and still have time to unwind at the end of the day.

Around the fruit and veggie garden today ✌🏻 the weather was amazing! We got outside and did some maintenance and weeding, ate berries in the sunshine and appreciated our family and our life 🥰
