After making bouquets for others this weekend, I finally made one (or maybe actually 3) for myself this weekend!

I absolutely ❤️ having fresh flowers in the house. They bring such beauty and peace.

Would love your opinion and help on this! If you were to do a bouquet subscription, would you prefer to receive your flowers wrapped in paper or in a mason type jar?

I can see it both ways, there are positives and opportunities both ways.

Which would you prefer?

Even though I have a garden full of flowers in my backyard, I still LOVE to be the recipient of flowers! My sweet hubby sent these to me at work today in celebration of our 30 years of marriage. (He’s amazing and thoughtful!) I feel so loved, the smell is absolutely amazing and they are so pretty to look at. All of which just brings all the good feels.

Don’t mind me if I carry them around with me to keep all that close! (Haha!)

On the day the groundhog predicted spring is on the way, I’m getting ready to start some seeds. Spring (and the growing season) is coming yall! I did a little jig in the kitchen while sorting my seeds by start date (and I may have purchased some new colors of snapdragons to grow this year eeek!)

Yesterday’s snow brought an opportunity to make a little snow lady. Holding flowers of course.

Oh. And I just purchased some new dahlia tubers of types I’ve never grown before. Getting excited to bring them to life this summer!

The tuber digging, cleaning and dividing is in full swing! All tubers are dug and cleaned. Half are divided and stored.

Seems like every year I learn something, and am thankful for the things I previously learned and co to yeti implement. This year, super grateful for having marked where I planted each tuber with a white plastic plant marker with tuber type written on it with black paint pen. That black paint lasted all growing season and really helped me identify what each plant was since I didn’t get them individually tagged this year as in years past. My planting diagram was also very helpful. For marking tubers during storage, the pictures customizable stamp was a workhorse and time saver!

Duplicating my storage method that so far has worked well for me: plastic milk crates lined with newspaper, tubers stacked in with either newspaper or pine shavings.

Rest well tubers - already looking forward to spring!

The dahlias are showing off! This week wrapped up the first offering of a bouquet subscription service, and to save it was life giving to me is an understatement. Flowers have a way of providing connection and beauty and I’m so so grateful to have the opportunity to share that.

There will be flowers until we get a hard frost. If you need a bouquet for you or someone else, hit me up. I’m happy to connect over flowers. 🌸

Um flowers in the bathroom?

Yep!

It’s my go to cooler than the rest of the house darkish place to allow my flowers to hydrate after being cut and before I arrange them.

And you just thought they had digestive issues. 😐

Come on! Teddy bear sunflowers?!! (The yellow one obvi). This evokes all kind of warm and cuddly feelings of favorite bears from by gone days (cough cough I may still have my favorite bear from childhood cough cough no shame in that). And paired with a dahlia. Gorgeous.

Ahhhhhh!! I’ve been dragging my feet on announcing this out of fear. So many troublesome “what if’s” run through my head. And then a version of this conversation happened:

Friend: “So what, if no one wants a flower subscription are you going to stop growing and sharing flowers?”

Me: “Of course not!”

Friend: “So why not put it out there? It’s something you love to do and love to share”

So here we are. And honestly, I’m super excited about the possibility of something that I love being invited into your life on a weekly basis.

Where did the name Your Day Bouquet come from? One of my daughters came up with it and I think it’s perfect. Have a great day? Celebrate with flowers. Have a bad day? Bring some beauty into your life. Exhausted at work or home? Flowers don’t talk back or give you extra work without appreciation. Need a gift for a hurting friend or maybe a hostess gift? Flowers. See? No matter what kind of day you are having, the answer can always be flowers. 🌸 Flower bouquets are always about connecting with others. In a world where so many feel isolated and lonely, flowers are bridge builders and points of connection. No matter what kind of day you are having. Hence, Your Day Bouquets.

Sign ups are open at the link in my bio and are limited. I’d love for you to be one with whom I get to share and connect.

Swipe to w**d my garden!

It’s always shoxking@how quickly the w**ds will sprout up. I’ve had other things needing time and attention, so my aisles were not w**d protected this year as in previous years. Well, didn’t the w**ds take advantage of that?!!

My stubby little fingers and colinear hoe took care of them, just in time for the rain to start.

The pre-growing season has been super busy with lots of seeds started, hardened off, planted and watered daily through this dry month. Sunflowers are 6” tall and growing. Dahlias have been in the ground for a while and are encouraging me with their daily growth! 🌸

I can’t wait to cut armfuls of beautiful flowers!!

Stay tuned. There’s something exciting coming soon that I think you’ll love and find such a boost to your summer. I’ve been wanting to do this for years and finally this year is the year!

And as excited as I am I am also nervous! But I suppose that’s normal with most new things that step you out of your comfort zone. 😊

More to come very soon!

Last year, I tried (and failed miserably) at starting lisianthus from seed. And I mean MISERABLY! Not a single seed germinated. (Insert my very sad face here). Found a local farm that sells lisianthus starts and now they are safely nestled into my garden. I CANNOT wait to watch them grow and bloom!

I learn so much from garden gardening. Todays lesson: there’s more than one way to a goal!

If there’s something you want to do/achieve, keep after it. First attempt might not work. But that attempt just might spur you on to discover the attempt that will work. 💕
