Lupins now blooming. They are a cottage-garden favourite. They make a real statement in the garden. Bees love them. Full sun or dappled shade. Red, Pink, Purple and Yellow. A great variety.

Huntington Park Wisteria
Large cascading clusters of pink, fragrant, sweet pea-like flowers. Vigorous vine. 8-10 metres. Blooms in June/July

Black Lace Elderberry

Itoh Peonies- a favourite in my garden!
A cross between a herbaceous peony and a tree peony. Up to 50 blooms per plant once established. Large strong stems that do not require staking. Here’s a bit of history on how these wonderful plants came to be. In the early1900’s they attempted to breed but were considered too different to breed. In 1948, after thousands of failed attempts, Japanese horticulturist, Dr. Toichi Itoh, successfully created 7 peony hybrids. These were the first Itoh Peonies. Sadly, Dr. Itoh passed away before ever seeing his creation bloom. Years later, American horticulturist, Louis Smirnow bought some of these originals to continue his work. These rare Itoh Peonies sold for $500-$1000 a piece. Today they are much more affordable. They require full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soil.

Hydrangeas
Strawberry Sundae- it’s a new compact Hydrangea. Flowers emerge creamy white and change to pink then red. The fantastic flower color lasts well into fall. This Hydrangea adds spectacular color and impressive flowers to small gardens with its compact habit. They bloom on new growth so if the twigs have been killed back from frost , they will still flower.

Hydrangea Invincibelle Ruby-Burgundy red buds open to a two-toned combination of bright red to silvery pink flowers. This is a strong rebloomer. Flowers June until frost. Blooms on new wood with strong stems to support the large flower heads
