Happy weekend!
What have you been up to? I've been slowly recovering from our trip from Disney a couple weeks ago. We spent much needed time with family and it was wonderful. My kids were my spirit animals--excited, overstimulated, exhausted and full of wonder (most of the time).
2024 has been in full swing! Can't believe next week is February 🤯

Do you have a word for 2024? My word for this year is delight. I feel like this word encompasses all the experiences I want for this year.
Delight in:
1. My 30s. Yay! We aren't 20 anymore and it's time to truly be okay with shedding that skin.
2. Motherhood. This one can be so hard. I'm gonna try my very best. That's all.
3. Making the most of where we are. There's a chance we could be moving sometime this year so I'm ready to be open to what that will look like.

Oh my goodness. I got A LOT of love yesterday. Hello new friends! I think an introduction is in order:
My name is Cori (aka Ruby & Blute) and I'm a floral designer. Let me tell you why this even exists: my Poppy. He was not only active duty in the Air Force, he was also a florist. In fact, he graduated from floral school after high school before pursuing the military. He passed away in 2013 and it wasn't until 2018 that I started to become curious about the wreaths he would make. To this day, his many floral pieces are dispersed in my family's houses. So the work I do feels deeper to me than joy, it is legacy.
What started with curiosity formed into a passion. There was an indescribable spark when I made my first silk floral wreath. It was bad. It was so bad, but I loved thinking of new ways to design and create. It was one of the very rare moments when I felt in my very bones, "This is it."
I worked with local florists who helped cultivate my craft and I am so grateful for them. They gave me the courage to do this on my own. There's enough creativity to go around and I needed to find mine.
I am a wife to a loving man and a mother of 2 beautiful kiddos. Our home sweet home will always be Tennessee, but we are currently living in Montana. Fortunately, we get the opportunity to explore places all over the world with my husband's job.
I love coffee (but with the boldness of 1000 suns--I'm a mom of 2. There is only black coffee all the time). My favorite show is Gilmore Girls (Team Jess) and I'm a 30-something. Mom jeans and boots are my kryptonite. In the evenings, you can probably find me watching a cozy baking show or some ridiculous sitcom with my boo. We play DnD and drink boxed wine. We are classy in that we are not classy at all.
I'm ecstatic that you are here. I hope I get to create something beautiful for you or your loved ones. ❤️ Thank you ALL for your support! It means so much.

Hello friends! 🫶🏼
Have you thought about the power others' words hold over you? You get called a certain name or description enough times and you decide that it must true.
Whether or not it is true, you wear it like it was handmade just for you. Like an itchy turtleneck that doesn't quite fit, you decide to keep it because you've had it forever and can't seem to get rid of it.
The heartbreaking bit is when others play into the narrative alongside you. Instead of uplifting you, encouraging and naming the Truth, they allow their own insecurities or fears to be stitched into your identity. A seam here, a tear there, a pocket on the front.
And if you're like me, that starts to feel very heavy. I get lost in something that I can't find my way out of. It's exhausting. I just grow more tired the harder I fight.
I'm offering you to stop. Just be still. Take some deep breaths. Do you hear your breath? As it enters through your nose and turns in your lungs and releases again as you breathe out? Again and again. Over and over.
Here's what I know--you yourself are a miracle, dear one. The odds of all the timeliness coming together and the milliseconds timed just right to create who you are is simply a miracle. And this world can feel so big sometimes. But you are here in it. A collective part of creation--invited to participate in its wonder and beauty.
I invite you to do one small thing that brings you joy today. Sing worship songs, paint a picture, go on a walk in solitude, dance like a fool in your living room, go for a drive, move your body, bake cookies, journal. Something that centers you. Participate in your creation.
It doesn't have to be grand or a project.
For me, I think I will catch up on the Bible study I've lost track of my place in. Maybe finally make that banana bread I keep telling myself I will make.
I know you're just doing the best you can. We all are ❤️

We are experiencing our first snow of the season today! I celebrated with a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. 😋
Such a stark contrast to the 75 degree weather I was experiencing just a few days ago when I made this beauty 😅

As some of you may already know, Magnolias hold a special place in my heart. I'm realizing that coming from the south that isn't an original thing at all, but I love how prevalent they are. Tennessee has me feeling inspired 🤗

I'm not sure if I just forget or if the fall lingers this long every year since we've lived in Montana. But I'm here for it! Just trying to soak up all the fall time I can before the snow season is upon us.

Here's what I've been up to lately:
🌼 My little boy started Kinder this year and I am not okay. He was just born yesterday!
🌼 Getting inspired for fall! My outside decor will be here soon and I am stoked to start decorating our porch 🦇
🌼 I'm doing this fun thing for the next couple of months with some women in my community called Secret Sisters--essentially secret Santa--I've had a blast! This will be my second round and I've been trying to be more creative.
🌼 Baking up a storm--we're talking donuts, cookies, errrthing.
🌼 Have really loved and been inspired by my gal pal, Chantha Schwebach 🫶🏼 Her photography is magical and I was lucky enough to get shot 📷 (photo in post by her!)
I feel summer ending soon. I'm anticipating a longer stretch of cooler weather soon, but I will try not to wish warmth away too quickly.

I'm a firm believer that the goal of life is to learn and grow--from mistakes, becoming self-aware and educating yourself on what it is to be a more loving human.
I think sometimes I mistake growth for productivity. I forget to be gracious to myself. I have a difficult time forgiving myself for things no longer in my control (aka the past).
I don't think the goal of growth is to be in a hurry. Hurry tells us there's not enough for everyone. Hurry tells us that we can't be last. It yells at us "we can't be late!" I don't know about you, but I'm never my kindest self when I'm in a hurry. So we can take our time.
Good things take time.

The month of May is when my heart gets excited for warmer weather. This weekend was gorgeous and we spent a lot of time outside catching all the rays.
I'm holding summer loosely. I've been burned by Montana before. We could still have room for one more snowy day. Which is bonkers. And completely asinine. I know, wE nEeD ThE sNoW. But I'm still not here for it.
May is mostly my favorite because it's my birthday month 🥳 I have a list of adventures and activities I want this month to be filled with. Some including kayaking, gardening and maybe a trip to a nearby town for the day.
