Let’s get together and feel alright.
It ended like this with a great vibe.
Well another Butetown Carnival over and here are a few photographs to remind you that we had a blast.
We battened down the hatches expecting a storm which turned out to be no more than a puff of wind.
We brought lots of repellent expecting a plague of locusts of biblical proportion, which turned out to be no more than an annoying mosquito that people had to keep batting off as they pitched stall by stall, sound by sound and family by family.
We are far from perfect and we continue to learn how to do things better next year.
We have already received 12 applications from artists wanting to perform at next years event and 6 who kerfirmed this year want to return next year.
We gave a platform to emerging creatives as well as new international talent.
We showcased a new collaboration between two international artists for a song that was written and performed in an afternoon.
We have announcements to make for next years Carnival but before we do so we are going to de brief and de clutter and wheel and come in again fir be t year.
It only remains for me to say a massive thank you to Kervin Julien and Donna Ali for their unwavering support.
Thanks to Catrina Davies for doing everything from litter picking, ordering food, buying bin bags making tea and a thousand other things all whilst looking absolutely beautiful as a butterfly.
To the teams of volunteers who were hands on in ensuring that the field was kept clean and tidy.
To the security that were so professional we have a big Thank you coming your way.
There are many others to thank that we will ensure that they are acknowledged as soon as we have had an opportunity to reflect and record who was with us.
Thanks to the stage managers, Crystal Clear. Empire and Qualitexx Sounds.
Thanks to the
