Sometimes I wish I had a shop with a chalk board where I'd write the name of the daily special, and it's always a dad joke like in Bob's Burgers. But until then, here's my pulled pork sandwich!
Some of you might recognize this as the thing that I delivered it to your doors last year. A handful of you might recognize this because the sauce is full of cilantro and I might have mixed up your orders because I was rushing out, late, to deliver these, leaving you with mouthfuls of soap-scented disappointment. For that I'm sorry, but for the rest, thank you for your awesome feedback! It was really encouraging to know that this sandwich was well-received by people who were able to eat cilantro.
Now without further ado, I hope everyone else gets a chance to watch this, and enjoy the video!

It's been almost a year since Covid shut us all down, and that's when I decided, like a crazy person, to start my own online takeout menu. Many for the stories! I nearly lopped off someone's fingers because this knife fell apart in my hand when I held it for the first time, so restoring it back to working condition was super gratifying. Matter of fact, I'm not-so-secretly hoping to get more of these kinds of projects in the future... But for now, here's another YouTube video! This video was a long time coming, but it's finally here! The secret recipe to my Strawberry Lemongrass Cheesecake is now live and online for your drooling pleasure.
Why post my recipes when other chefs are so guarded about theirs? I have a hunch that once you see the amount of work involved in the food that graces your table, I'm sure you'll understand why I keep doing what I'm doing, and maybe even taste the effort that goes into all of my creations. And I'm a big believer in the thought that other cooks should do the same, for ours is a dwindling craft...

The smoked tritip goes great with the chimichurri sauce and roasted potatoes, and the seasonal winter salad pairs perfectly with the plump pulled pork, which works fantastically for sandwiches and tacos the next day.

I'm cutting it close with the timing but here's the menu for the next couple weekends!!! I'm experimenting with hickory smoked pecans in a mini smoker/grill that I've repaired. Anyway it's a long story and I'll cut to the chase: I'm thinking about doing the drop-off in downtown LA by the Walt Disney Concert Hall but I'm almost certain to get ticketed. Anybody have a better idea for downtown LA? I'm taking suggestions 🤔😂

Well that happened. Okay, I asked, and you answered. So I'm changing the name of the dessert to something simpler.

Introducing the new permanent dessert on the menu:
The new Humble Berry Crumble.
-- Because I was humbled by the fact that I can't just name drop a protected identity to hint at the ingredients.

Rosemary, Berries, and Lemongrass come together to form a crunchy, aromatic berry crumble that's anything but humble, and with a nice crunch to boot. Hope you like it! Get your pre-orders in soon, because I'll be out of town this Saturday through Monday, but I'll still be delivering to the West side on Thursday and the South Bay on Friday!

Hey everyone it's Victor from Smoky Pan.

I'm going to be out of town from Saturday 9/19 to Monday 9/21, so I won't be delivering to SGV and Glendale as planned for this coming weekend.
I will still be cooking and delivering to the other neighborhoods listed in my... uh... list. Ahem. But Friday in South Bay will be the last one this week! Get your pre-orders in while there's still time!

In the meantime, I'm adding a new permanent dessert to the menu: The ludicrously aromatic little 'Mary Berry On 'Grass, a humble little rosemary and berry crumble with lemongrass. It's got a not-so-humble punch-you-in-the-nose aroma and flavor and I'm proud to add this to the menu at $6/slice. Hope you like it as much as I did! Pre-order yours today to get it delivered to your nearest drop-off spot. Check out the rest of the menu for more!

After next Monday, my schedule will resume.

Also, does anybody know if I can get sued for using Mary Berry's name, when it's really an abbreviation for "Rosemary Berry"? That'd be good to know.

Hope everybody is staying safely away from the fires this weekend. If you have to go outside, please wear a thicker mask and stay hydrated. Now onto the update:

To improve the quality of the food, I'm picking common dropoff spots where you can all come and find me. These will usually be large, open parking lots, and I'll be there waiting for you to come and pick up your orders.
I'm also tightening up the menu so I can really crush the orders and get them to you all fresh off the line, so stay tuned for that! If this works out, I'm keeping the hot new menu items in place, and if not, then I'm adjusting it as always.

Please let me know if you have any questions about my new system. I know it'll take some getting used to.
Effective Monday, September 14 2020, this schedule will stay in place until further notice. I've listed the pickup schedule below.

These locations and menu items are subject to change, but we'll adjust things as we get a feel for them!
Oh and I'll have pictures of the new items on Sunday night :D

Okay, bad news for y'all. I'm taking Crepe Cake off the menu. It took me 3 hours to make this batch from start to finish, so if you already ordered one, I'll honor that, but I'm not taking any new orders for it.

I wanna start this post by saying thank you to all your support over the weekend and I hope you all had a safe and relaxing Labor Day. I didn't expect to see the number of orders that I've been seeing this week and it's made me rethink my menu and service model for the better. The picture of the menu that I've uploaded to this post is still available until Monday! That said, I'll put up the new menu in a separate post tomorrow, with more details to follow. Stay hungry and stay safe out there, Los Angeles.

Now as far as service changes go, also starting on Monday I'm going to limit my service area to specific days and locations to keep the quality up. I'll take pre-orders up to midnight daily for the next day, and deliver from 6:30PM - 8PM. This way, we can make sure the quality of your food is as fresh as possible when you get it!
And if you're ever in the SGV on my SGV days and wanna do a pick up, stop by and say hi! I LOVE meeting people!--to the chagrin of everybody who's ever worked the line with me in my restaurant career :P
