Started working on this dubstep(?) tune the other day, but definitely need more work on the sound design aspect. So if anyone wants to help me lmk, dying to finish it off 🐈‍⬛🐈 Overall happy to be finally getting stuck into ableton after years of procrastinating. FInally, something is starting to click.

The true life of a dj sometimes means having 2 other jobs, which also means when I send in pre-recorded radio shows I dont have time to promote them because I'm at work 😳 I'm sure many of you can relate
Anyways! The second hour of the B.L.O.O.M. STEAM Radio residency is now up on my soundcloud. With this show I tried to capture my musical interpretation of autumn. All the way back in June the amazing LUXE invited me for a guest hour on her Melodic Distraction residency and of course I jumped at the chance. Now that I have managed to get through some heavy life admin I'm finally starting to find the time to get back to my creative self so, at last, the show is up on my soundcloud (yaaay) 🌳

I really enjoyed putting this selection together, as I know I'm at my happiest when I'm spreading the joy of wobblers. This show is packed with grime, dancehall, dubstep, garage and trap - balancing between hard and atmospheric 🌿🌿

I really hope the huge shift towards virtual streaming services of mixes, club events and other types of events n exhibitions is here to stay even when venues are allowed to reopen again. At least right now people who are living with disabilities that may have prevented them from attending events in the past, are able to participate in the scene in the same way as everyone else. I hope when we come out of this period of uncertainty clubs, venues and collectives begin to think how they can adapt their services and premises to those who have not been able to access them in the past.

Attitude is Everything (AiE) conducted a survey of 100 deaf and disabled musicians across the UK, in which 2/3 respondents admitted they have to compromise their well-being in order to perform live. 70% reported they had kept their conditions hidden out of worry that it could damage their career. In 2018 another survey by AiE found 80% of disabled music fans had difficulty accessing tickets to events.

These are just of the examples people face when trying to engage with the music scene. Other obvious examples would include many venues not being physically accessible to people with a variety of conditions e.g. limited toilets, limited exits and entry points, lack of assistance. I hope we can all work together to improve the state of affairs and ensure all people have the chance to participate in arts, culture and simply having fun. 💕💕

My guest mix for a Ukrainian collective FBS aka Flower Broadcast Systems is finally out.
