FAIRYTALE (NEW YORK)

"Starting in 2019, Fairytale have carved out a unique sound that is both ethereal and chaotic, beautiful, and terrifying. This New York City band are back with their debut LP, Shooting Star. Wretched soaked guitars and a rhythm section that sounds like a horde of demons are blended together with dynamic vocals that meander between gruff and choral, at times reminding one of Tozibabe" - Quality Control

With support from PLEASURE from Leeds featuring members of Votiv, No Form and The Annihilated. CATASTROPHE from London feat members of Antagonizm and Layback, .and brand new local band URINE MASK playing some D-Beat Tragedy worship.

Final highlight of 2023!

UNREST at Rockaway Park back in August was one hell of a day. A lot of love and preparation went into making that day what it was, and we couldn't have been happier with how it went. Sold out and a great crowd and vibes all day.

We added up the end of year amount from our collection pot and rounded up to £300 for a donation to Bristol Refugee Rights this month.

In total, we donated £1800 this year to causes close to our hearts from donations and gigs that broke even. Hopefully, we'll be able to do the same in 2024.

1/ Delco MF's knocked everyones socks off at Golden Lion in September.
2/ Physique smashed the roof off the Golden Lion back in June.
3/Chain Whip gig at The Golden Lion was probably the busiest there since Municipal Waste in 2022.

1/ Kohti Tuhoa's rip roaring set at Exchange in July with Doldrey also giving a great set too.

2/ Punitive Damage at The Crofters in April makes a 2nd appearance on the lists. The room and the energy of that set really made it one to remember.

3/ Coffin Mulch in July at The Red Lion makes a 3rd appearance on the lists. Metal at its best, and great people to boot.

1/ Paranoid @ Dareshack in April. Sold out the first venue, had to upgrade to venue over double the size, and it sold out again!. Absolute chaos pit.

2/ Destruct @ Golden Lion in June. Rammed and sweaty D-Beat chaos.

3/ Zeke @ Exchange. Old school punks tore up the Exchange. Jon ticked one off his bucket list.

1/ Punitive Damage at Crofters in April.
Surprise sell out gig of the year.

2/ Bad Breeding played for us a couple of times. Harry's choice is their set at the Golden Lion in April

3/ Coffin Mulch at The Red Lion. 2nd appearance for them in the lists and definitely one to watch.

So 2023 is coming to an end, so we wanted to take a minute look back at all the gigs we did this year.

We did 35 gigs and put on over 130 bands and also managed to donate a good chunk of money.

We've all had a think and narrowed down our favourite sets of the year to just 3 each (minus Unrest, of course).

Dean will be sadly leaving the collective, so we're starting with his top 3 sets of 2023.

1 / Votiv at the Golden Lion back in June supporting Destruct.

2 / Coffin Mulch at The Red Lion also blew Dean away in July.

3/ TSOL at the Exchange were a rare treat to have play for us. Hardcore legends.

Thanks to everyone who came down to our final gig of 2023 on Saturday. Thanks to all the bands and Sean and the Golden Lion who've massively been able to help us host a big chunk of them.

It's been a long year, and we've clocked in 35 gigs in total!!

We're going to have a well-earned rest now and will be back in February 2024!

They'll be a few announcements until then.
