**ROCKIN FOR KEN and YSTRAD MYNACH BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB**
On 28/05/23 an on Line all day event to help raise some much needed funds for this fabulous club, and Ken who is the very heart and soul of the place. Kens love for the club started as a young boy playing football for the then clubs football team, not only his passion for the game but also the music and dances that were put on there , with some great artists performing including Frankie Vaughan, Screaming Lord Such, Vince Eager, Johnny Kidd, Danny Rivers , Heinz, Micheal Cox to name just a few. The original signing book is still there in the memorabilia room, where you can see the artists signatures along with photos and the long history of the club. Ken has forged life long friendships from this club that are still going strong to this day. This place that has played such a huge part of his life and his time and dedication to keeping the club open and providing a safe place for the children of the area to come play games, and forge friendships and just hang out, under Kens watchful but very caring eyes. In a time where kids no longer get the chance to hang out in places like these, Ken has worked hard to raise money , applying for grants and knocking on local business's doors just to keep the doors open for the children, who pack the place out weekly, there's a demand and a need but also a love for this club and the different generations that still want to go there. Ken is not getting any younger and ill health has forced him to take a step back and his son is now supporting his Dad in keeping the place running , but Ken has not put his feet up completely as he loves being there and still makes sure he's there for those who need him. And the children keep coming, for a few pennies a night , he won't raise the fees or the tuck shop because he knows families are struggling and can't afford it, that's why we wanted to put a few pounds in the coffers to help . We are asking to please support this day and the wonderful DJs that have jumped on board, and ask you to donate a little something, for a man that has given so much to his community and still continues to do so for the children to enjoy as much as he did and still does. All those who donate will be entered into a little prize draw and given a number with our own glamorous assistant Tracy Tonic who will call out the winning number.
