Today, we gather to commemorate the 33rd Anniversary of the Hiroshima Peace Stone in the Philippines.

This stone, bearing the image of the Goddess of Mercy and the words "From Hiroshima," serves as a poignant reminder of the value of peace.

It was generously donated to the Philippines on August 21, 1991, by the Stones for Peace Association of Hiroshima and now resides in the tranquil Japanese Garden in Rizal Park Luneta.

Our commemoration featured a Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing Exhibit, Paper Crane Origami, Prayers, and the Offering of Incense. We also invited park goers to share their messages of peace...

Thank you for choosing my events team again! We're honored to have helped bring this meaningful event to life. We hope everyone who attended gained a deeper appreciation for peace and its importance in our world.

In 1991, the Stones for Peace Association of Hiroshima began donating Peace Stones to heads of state around the world who share the desire for peace. The Peace Stones used to be paved stones under Hiroshima streetcars that survived the A-bomb blast in 1945. Survivors of the bombing carved the image of the Goddess of Mercy and the words “From Hiroshima” to remind the world of the value of peace. The Japanese Garden at Rizal Park Luneta, Manila currently houses the Peace Stone donated to the Philippines on August 21, 1991.

This Sunday, 18 August 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Japanese Garden we invite you to join us in commemorating the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing and campaign for peace through the following activities:

-The Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing Exhibit
-Trivia Questions about the Exhibit
-Paper Crane Origami
-Message of Peace
-Prayers & Offering of Incense

Complete the activities and win exciting souvenir!

The Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing Exhibit will remain accessible to the public until 21 August 2024.

This event is made possible by the National Parks Development Committee, in partnership with Peace Wave Philippines.

See you there!
