Voices For Liberation May 22, 2021 | www.https://voicesinactionconcert.com Voices For Liberation (V4L) carries a tone that also aligns with the work we do!

Voices For Liberation, Dancing The Diaspora - the 1st concert in our international virtual dance festival in featuring Black from artists from Africa, Cuba and Brazil to benefit Grown Women Dance. Formerly known as Voices In Action, we recently changed our name due to the amazing work that an already established non-profit with that name, is doing and do not wish to confuse, nor take away from the

vital work they are doing. Please stay tuned for upcoming events, concerts, performances, that we are excited to host that are set up to fundraise for organizations that are doing proven work in communities at risk of disenfranchisement. V4L is a diversely run organization that is particularly focused on the safety, welfare, well-being and uplifting of Black Lives everywhere.

I have to share this although many of you have already seen this. Tiffany Haddish did a segment with ET's Kevin Frazier doing a haunted tour in New Orleans with my sister-in-love, Malika Hadley Freydberg who is married to my sister Janet Young. If you have not checked her out she co-owns one of the top tour companies in New Orleans Anansi's Daughters https://www.anansisdaughters.com/
They have 5 stars on Trip Advisor, Yelp, Road Trippers and 4.9 by Google Reviewers. Anansi's Daughters is the only New Orleans tour company owned and run by High Priestesses of Louisiana Plantation Voodoo/Vodou. Check out the video below. So proud of Malika. And check out The Blackest Ghost Tour they offer with the Groupon link in the comments below.

The actress stars in 'Haunted Mansion,' which is due out later this month.

Please consider donating to this amazing group in Haiti! The founder, Wislin, we know to be a generous, kind, talented and inspirational human who gives so much to youth and community. I know this because we’ve zoomed with him on a fundraiser he and his dance group had helped us with all the way out here in the Bay Area!!

Their goal is so attainable!!! If everyone who views this, donates $10, I know they would be able to exceed their goal!! 🙏🏽🌸❤️

Juneteenth is an often overlooked event in our nation’s history. On June 19, 1865, Union troops freed enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay and across Texas some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

Meet the Artists Corner:
Artistic Director for L'Acadco: A United Caribbean Dance Force, Dr. L'Antoinette Stines!

Dr. Stines is a dancer, choreographer, actress, teacher/lecturer, administrator, author and visionary. Creator of L’Antech, a modern contemporary Caribbean Dance Technique, Dr. Stines continues to impact on the direction and future of Caribbean dance. Dr. Stines has a long and varied performing history, which ranges from classical ballet to Yoruba “Orisha” dance. Her dance career began in Jamaica with Alma Mok Yen (1961-71), continued to the Martha Graham School and finally through to Pepsi Bethel Authentic Jazz Dance Company (1975-77) and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (1977-78). Regarded as an expert in popular, folkloric Jamaican dance and the development of contemporary dance, Dr. Stines has lectured in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and North and South America. Using L’ACADCO as her canvas, Dr. Stines’ choreographic work is inspired by the virility of her island’s culture and ancestry, the sensuality of its people and the natural mystic in the air.
