I’m about to say something controversial…but your wedding is about YOU!! You spend so much of your day doing things with other people that often couples don’t even get to see each other outside of the ceremony 🤯 Here’s some unique ways we’ve seen couples maximize their time together on the actual wedding day: 1. Have a first look before the ceremony: This is by far the number 1 thing we advocate for when creating your wedding day timeline. As wedding photographers and videographers, having a first look before the ceremony means that we are able to get in your couples session before the ceremony—which means everything after the ceremony will so much more chill! Not to mention, having that first look moment in private makes it so much more intimate and memorable for you two. 2. 30 min of chill before the ceremony: After your first look, take 30 minutes to be by yourselves before the rest of the events. This is a great time to chat about getting ready for the day and to calm your nerves before the ceremony. It’s also a time to cool down and do any touch ups if you live in the South. If you know, you know 🤪 3. Private dinner during cocktail hour: I’ve only seen one couple do this, but man was it a great idea!! While their guests were enjoying cocktail hour, the new bride and groom had a private dinner for just the 2 of them! It’s almost like it’s your first dinner date as a married couple 🥰 4. Mingle with your guests during their dinner: To piggy back off the previous— Since you guys already ate, now you can spend the dinner mingling with your guests while they eat! I cannot tell you how many couples I have seen not even get to eat their dinner because so many people wanted to chit chat and get photos with them (and rightfully so)! Doing this allows you as a couple to speak to every single guest and still be fed and happy 5. Private dance to end the night: This is a newer tradition that we have been loving! Make sure to save these tips for your wedding ceremony to have the best wedding photos and video clips! ✨Walk slowly down the aisle: There’s no need to rush it! Make it look like a casual stroll vs a sprint to the alter. We know you’ve waited forever for this moment, but I promise you will want to capture the moment in your photos and wedding film forever and not see a blur and potentially be out of focus 🙃 ✨Hold you bouquet at your waist: Doing this strikes a perfect balance, allowing the full view of your dress while looking natural and relaxed, without hiding too much of her face or obscuring the details of her gown by holding it too high ✨Ask your Officiant to move out of the way for the kiss: We loooove when the Officiant allows the Bride and Groom to be front and center for the arguably most anticipated moment of the ceremony. is fantastic about doing this without you even asking, but there is no shame in asking your Officiant to do this! ✨Dip, kiss, and hold at the end of the aisle: These are by far some of our favorite shots to get at the ceremony! It takes a little practice, but I promise the shot for your photos and video are WORTH IT! We’ve been photographing and filming weddings in the beautiful Florida and Alabama Gulf Coast for over 10 years now. (Yes, we are old…we get it 🤣) Here’s some of the most common things we see Brides and Grooms forget on the wedding day: 🤍 Wedding Invitation Suite: We love including these in our details shots for photo and video 🤍 Printed copy/hard copy of your vows: It will look so much more aesthetically pleasing if you are reading them from a journal/piece of paper instead of your phone. Also, you can include these in your detail photos, along with your wedding invitation suite. 🤍 Hangers for dress photos: I know a hanger is just a hanger, but I can’t even tell you how much a generic, plastic hanger will stick out against your beautiful wedding and bridesmaids dresses. You don’t have to get super fancy! A solid white, wood hanger from the store will work just fine! 🤍 A phone charger: You won’t believe how fast your phone battery will go from taking all the selfies and TikToks/Reels with your girls 🤣 🤍 Your Marriage License and a Pen: Totally not photography-related, but you wouldn’t believe how many people forget to bring their marriage license…or a pen to sign it with! 🤪 To help you not forget all these things, try to assign a bridesmaid or family member to be in charge of the items!
