And another FSF LIVE is in the books. On the evening of Monday, April 8 — with energy still high from that afternoon's ecplise — Manhattan's Glasshouse was buzzing with fashion industry insiders (like host, model and body advocate, Paloma Elsesser and honorees Tracee Ellis Ross, Pete Nordstrom and Michael Burke), stylists, designers, press and, of course, 130 FSF Scholars ready to see their case studies come to life via a custom exhibit.

For the third year in a row, the Liberty & Co. team provided full strategy, creative, theatrical and event production for this annual fundraiser — reimagining what was once a sit-down dinner into a dynamic program featuring goose-bump inducing storytelling from Scholarship Honorees and an artful exhibition of Scholar work.

According to a recent study from FinanceBuzz, tickets bought at least three months in advance cost 14% more than the average ticket’s resale price — while day-of and day-before purchases saved buyers 33% and 27%. We Don’t Do Boring Sh*t here at Liberty & Co. – which is why we spent the week in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, doing some cool sh*t! We had a great time at BizBash's Connect Spring Marketplace, collaborating with inspiring event industry leaders.

We also ventured to the hub of immersive entertainment at AREA15 where our CEO, Erica Boeke, spoke with the mastermind behind the artistry, Winston Fisher, CEO of AREA15. The two discussed the power of storytelling through immersive entertainment, and encouraged Leadership Summit attendees to push the boundaries and be bold.

A huge shout out to the AREA15 team for accommodating us with an incredible tour and an even more astounding art performance in the venue’s Portal.

The tech layoffs keep coming… Disney’s next-generation storytelling and consumer experiences division, which had been exploring how the company could enter the Metaverse, has been eliminated, according to The Wall Street Journal. The 50-person team was looking into how Disney could use its existing intellectual property for virtual experiences. All eyes on you, Meta…

The elimination is part of a broader restructuring that is expected to reduce head count by around 7,000 across the company over the next two months.

Hulu’s The 1619 Project premiere deserves all the accolades. Of course, its an incredible, multimedia program that everyone should experience and the launch party was a gorgeous representation. Check out the photos on BizBash of what Oprah dubbed part of “one of the greatest marketing campaigns she had ever seen.” Highest compliment ever.

Held at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, the premiere event for the Hulu original series aimed to be intentional with every touchpoint.

Move over Billy McFarland, there’s another fraudster vying to be the face of the experiential industry…

Mr. Watson had founded the troubled digital-media start-up Ozy, which unraveled after The New York Times examined its business practices.

Another whirlwind year for the Liberty & Co. crew! From taking over Miami with the Pivot pod, to finding new heights in Los Angeles, we got “stuck” in Paris (très tragique!), hosted talks with household names, awarded some of the world’s most philanthropic leaders in NYC and battled the infamous Las Vegas winds.

Our 2023 motto is, keep the crazy coming! If anyone can handle uncertainty with grace and smarts, it’s the Liberty & Co. team. Proud of where we’ve been. Really excited for what’s to come. (As long as it’s crazy — in a good way!)
