Allu, Waqaa, and hello,

Welcome to Tanqiar. (Pronounced “done-key-agh”) It means “Little Light” in Yupik.

We will celebrate the winter solstice on December 20th. The time the sun returns to the Arctic. To honor our ancestors and our way of life, we’ll have performances by Indigenous people from Canada, Alaska, Siberia and Greenland.

Please join us and celebrate the light returning to our land this season.

It starts at: Greenland 20.00, Canada 18.00 Alaska 14.00 and Siberia 11:00 + 1 day.
