Monique & Louis 🖤

Monique and Louis contacted me to shoot their elopement and from the day I met them, I couldn’t wait to capture their intimate day. Every moment, from getting ready at their place, to the beautifully scenic location of their ceremony, seemed significant as these two prepared to make heartfelt and lifelong commitments to each other.

Their love and adoration for one another shone throughout the day, and could not be more evident in the words that they wrote down for their vows which they shared on that hill on the edge of the world. Monique and Louis, thank you for trusting me with this deeply personal day.

Being super organised for shooting a wedding is vitally important but being able to adapt when plans suddenly change or certain challenges arise is just as important.

The area that we shot this photograph was never part of the plan and the other part of the hotel that we had planned to shoot most of the couple portraits didn’t quite work out as planned and I have to say this spot actually became my favourite location that we did portraits on the day 👌🏻

For my candid approach to capturing your day I love to set up real moments that are captured in a controlled way, this could be making sure you are set up in a well lit area or moving some background elements out of the shot to make it look more appealing.

At the end of the day it is about what helps make a photo look and feel authentic and not too overpower while still looking appealing.

Watching the small children try and spot their parents in the crowd is always a highlight. These moments always seem to calm the nerves that are in the air as the anticipation builds ✨
