Couple of cancellations have left Sound Hole open all day tomorrow: if you're keen on a late notice spot tomorrow (Thursday 21st April) you can do a three hour session with any starting time for $40. [email protected] if you wanna book in.

I'm working on opening a second room ASAP too if you didn't already know, and hopefully an automatic booking form (so you don't have to email). Won't be earlier than mid-may for a barebones second room.

The 6pm-9pm slot tonight has just opened up and it's discounted to $50 for anyone keen. In a cruel twist, I'm about to go to sleep for a few hours so if you are keen for a spot and can handle the anxious wait for a confirmation you may like to email [email protected] (I should be conscious to reply around 2:30).

I mean the odds anyone wants it with 9 hours notice let alone more than one band are slim so you know, you'll probably get it.

Actually while we're at it 6pm-9pm tomorrow (Friday) is still available too, I'll also make that $50.

I'm making some changes to the space, hoping to make it look and sound nicer. Also beer fridge - if it looks like it came off the side of the road that's because it did, but it is clean and chilly inside.

Sound Hole is reopening from the 11th of October, I'm taking bookings now via [email protected] if you're keen.

The answer to the burning question: yes you must be double vaccinated to rehearse here and you need to be able to show proof if requested. If you're not aware how to do that seeing as the vaccine passport won't be ready by the 11th you can still get that info from your myGov in the Medicare section. If you need help navigating that stuff I actually worked in a call centre where part of our role was to be the myGov help desk last year...so don't ask me. No you can ask me it's fine.

The vaccine requirement is state law for just about anywhere other than the supermarket or healthcare providers until December 1, but if you're looking for a stance on it from Sound Hole - well, Sally, it's my hole and there's no staff - I'm 100% enthusiastically pro vax. I thoroughly enjoyed both penetrations of AZ and may have even moaned a little when I felt it inside me.

If you're looking for somewhere to rehearse with a different stance on this I do actually know a guy, I can share the contact for that studio with you without drama if you want to message me privately. I believe he provides cymbals and snare but you have to BYO Ivermectin.

Another Recovidry performance filmed at Sound Hole, this time it's Sam Joole. We did most of the acoustic acts here 'cos my access to the Townie early Saturday mornings where we filmed all the bands expired - the cleaners **hated** me.

One day when I finish the Recovidry production work (allegedly this day was in late October last year) these sort of recording services will be part of the expanded offering at Sound Hole. Just have about 30 performances I still need to mix first 😅

And yeah if you wanna see more of these things follow the Recovidry page. If you haven't yet seen it there's another bloody ripper clip there of Harold & the Bishops (not being Pas Ag) and Royal Chant will be up next.

This clip for Recovidry was filmed at Sound Hole shortly before it opened. There's a bunch more coming (forty seven acts doing 20 - 30 minute sets) and I think because everyone had been locked up for a couple of months by the time we started filming all the performances they're all pretty bloody good.

Anyways there's f**k all else going on at the moment so I'm trying to get some of this content out in the void, follow the Recovidry page if you're keen to see more, there are all sorts of artists involved between Punk and Jazz. Not really any metal though, soz.
