Bouquet Bootcamp

Bouquet Bootcamp Bouquet Bootcamp® teaches designers to Build Better Bouquets™ with confidence and efficiency! I have a long history and love affair with flowers.

I teach florists how to design with confidence, intention, and strategy so they can value themselves, attract the work they want, and achieve their design goals. My 20+ career—ranging from full-time freelancer to studio owner hustling behind the scenes during special White House events—led me ultimately to the path as an educator and advocate. I'm here to share my love of design, flowers, and wellness in hopes that my experiences will make the path a little less complicated for you.

I came across this photo and thought it was such a beautiful demonstration of an important color topic: temperature!

By blending warm whites and ivories (peonies, butterfly ranunculus, roses) with cooler whites (anemones, phlox, and sweet pea), you achieve a monochromatic look that has dimension, depth, and interest.

For instance - the cooler tone in the anemone helps it stand out and shine, when it might have otherwise blended in and gotten lost in the backdrop of the butterfly ranunculus and peony.

Try mixing cool and warm tones of your core hue to retain impact and visual interest when working in monochromatic palettes!

Bonus tip! Notice how the crisp, cool white container makes a stunning contrast with the cream butterfly ranunculus, and has less contrast with the pure white ranunculus? This observation reminds us to always factor your container into your design!!

Floral designs that are loose, airy, and full of texture...

It took me a long time to crack the code on the modern-day style of floral design. But after countless broken stems and many stiff, overstuffed bouquets and centerpieces, I finally returned to my years of formal training and discovered that the secret to trendy, nature-inspired designs is... the spiral method! Really!

You can catch me in 11 cities around the US this year teaching my tried, true, and repeatable approach to the spiral hand-tied as well as principles and elements of design and color theory during the Mayesh x The Floral Coach® Design Tour.

And if you *simply* can't wait that long to get some learning in, then I have some good news!

The second you click buy on an upcoming tour date, you'll be delivered a mini-course version of my flagship Bouquet Bootcamp® Online Course that will not only prepare you for our in-person time together, but will also deliver you the education you need to be reading for wedding season! In fact, you can watch me make this^^^ very bouquet, step-by-step!

Click in the next link 🔗https://linkin.bio/bouquetbootcamp to purchase your ticket + get your lifetime access to our (not so) mini-course (it is 2.5 hours after all!)

Happy designing!

Did you know flowers can be damaged if you use the wrong cutting tool?

Snips and clippers (especially dull ones!) can sometimes damage stems, inhibiting water uptake and preventing flowers from hydrating, thriving, and looking their most beautiful!

Knives, however, make easy, clean, and sharp cuts.

Floral knives can save so much time because you never prevent excessive use of your hands! Sharp clippers, shears, and snips can do a great job and play an important role in your toolkit, but can also risk pinching and crushing stems, inhibiting water uptake and preventing flowers from drinking.

A knife, on the other hand, allows you to modify stem length without causing damage and quickly can clean up and pare down a stem.

👊🏼Getting technical training, like the spiral method (my fave!)🌀

Having answers to why certain things work in design creates a bedrock of confidence to build on, helps with risk taking, fixing design issues and communicating with clients and staff.

This one-day hands on training will include practical color theory for leveling up your work, my proven step by step method to beautiful hand tied bouquets, a care and handling chat and strategic excercises to grow your skills.

Do you have a hellebore horror story? 👻 Me too. I once received 200 stems of wilty hellebore that I needed for a photoshoot. Yikes. 😩 Want to know how I saved them (and the shoot)? Hear the story on the blog today (link in bio!)

The intersection of beauty and bottom line is the key to sustainable business practices. One part of that is the care and handling and how to salvage a bloom when crisis hits.

Hellebore are a gorgeous spring bloom but they can be frustrating to work with. This week on the blog, I share my favorite shopping, handling, and design tips for working with this amazing star-shaped bloom. 🌟

You don't want to miss this!
