It’s OK to not be OK.

To be sad.

Tired.

Grieving.

Confused.

Empty.

Unsure.

Acknowledging those emotions and learning to sit in the discomfort of each is how we grow. Brushing them under the rug and refusing to acknowledge their existence, on the other hand, is how we stay stagnant.

Two dirty words we don’t say often enough in business settings: mental health.

But the thing is: mental health is not some secret piece of your life that’s separate from your business. In so many ways, your mental health has *everything* to do with your business.

When we’re run down, depressed, isolated, or experiencing a mental-health episode, we can’t create and collaborate to our fullest capacity. We can’t answer emails. We can’t pitch clients. We can’t give our business the love it needs to thrive.

So here’s your daily reminder to be dogged when it comes to noticing, staying on top of, and treating mental health issues. Doing so is paramount for your own health and the health of that brand you’re working so hard to build.

As we are coming to the close of 2022, we have been through some really exciting projects and we are really proud of where iwespa has come from.
As we approached the end of year, we decided to honor our mentors and mentees that are based in Zambia for a group lunch.

It was such an amazing time. On the agenda was everything from our personal businesses, our challenges, our wins and our experiences in terms of business, how to follow systems and be disciplined in order to be successful. We got to learn from each other and realized that we all go through the same things so we need to work together.

It was a beautiful vision to see our mentors and mentees on one table sharing food, life experiences and it was also great to hear the mentees talk about how the association has helped them this far.
What a heartwarming experience it was.

Thank you to the mentors and mentees who took the time to join us and for those that couldn’t physically make it, we hope to break bread with you on the next one soon.

Thank you to ALL our board members and advisors for all the support this year be it physical or virtual. We truly are grateful for all you do.
