Komité Ayiti is a non profit grassroots organization geared towards connecting the Haitian community to educational, social, and cultural resources within the greater Baltimore Area. Komité Ayiti advocates for the Haitian community and serves as a link to resources in the Baltimore area and abroad.

CALL FOR ARTIST!!! B24 AT ARTSCAPE

B24 is Artscape’s new signature in-door exhibition featuring the work of the best artists based in Baltimore City and the surrounding region.

B23 featured the work of 25 Baltimore-based and regional artists. B23 was juried by Rhea Combs of Black Artist Research Space (BARS), Liz Faust, Independent Curator, and Tod Roulette of Roulette Fine Art (New York).

B24 will be juried by Sheena M. Morrison (Independent Curator), Carol Rhodes Dyson (Howard University), and Kilolo Luckett (ALMA | LEWIS).

Artists can be at any stage of their career post-university and can work in any discipline of art including painting, drawing, video, film, glass, textile, photography, light, sound, sculpture, and performance. Artists will be able to submit 5-7 works for consideration.

The exhibition will be open to the public during Artscape.

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican originated holiday that is celebrated mostly in Puebla (where the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 during the Franco-Mexican War occurred).

Shout out to General Zaragoza who led the army to a victory from the greedy French - who decided to use the opportunity instead to use their efforts and expand their empire into Mexican territory (¡que golosos!)

Anyway, these are the days which make me a proud Mexicana de Chihuahua (born and raised) y que mejor que celebrar our resilience and determination (as an immigrant) in a place dedicated to that same identity and struggle.

Gracias to all the staff at for making me feel proud and at home. ¡Salud!

Smiled when I saw myself in one of the 2024 promotional flyers rockin’ out the beautiful sharp flower dress and leather jacket from . The braided mohawk hairstyle just pulled it all together.

Known for his constant smile and ability to inspire students to become leaders, Edwin traveled from Baltimore to Kansas City to join the LEC community in celebration. At the event, he paid tribute to his fellow awardees and nominees, emphasizing the importance of representation and advocacy for students. Edwin also acknowledged the organizations in Baltimore that are dedicated to empowering future generations in his community.
