What’s cooking in the Salty Belgian kitchen you may ask? Tête Pressée! Otherwise known as “head cheese”… the head of a calf or pig, typically set in aspic, and usually eaten cold, at room temperature, or in a sandwich. Despite its name the dish is not a cheese and contains no dairy products. It’s a Belgian delicacy!!!! we will post pictures of the finished product!

This week at The Salty Belgian we are featuring THREE delicious frozen ready-made easy dinners to get you through this very wet weekend: 1. a spicy turkey sausage, mushroom and peppers over Campanelli pasta with a light and spicy tomato sauce (our family dinner last night and it was DELICIOUS!!!). 2. our turkey hachis parmentier (sheppard pie style) with a yummy cauliflower potato topping, and 3. our yummy fish soup made from fresh fish and shell fish and simmered down with saffron, pernaud and so many flavors! Order either the spicy pasta or the hachis parmentier for 19$, or try both for 32$, or you can add the soup and get all 3 for 40$!!!! And if you have a sweet tooth don’t forget about our Salty Belgian Tiramisu 14$. This week the Salty Belgian is featuring some exciting specials! Local flounder with roasted bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes, olives on Israeli couscous. Mediterranean style. $ 24. We also have our delicious chicken curry cooked with bananas and pineapples in the sauce served with basmati rice for $17. This dish comes frozen and is such an easy dish to make dinner simple and delicious! Great for kids and families! And we are also featuring our carrot and ginger coconut soup $12 a quart.
