THE PADDY BUCHANAN BAND

De Paddy Buchanan Band is een vijfkoppig ensemble uit Aberdeen, Schotland, dat zich specialiseert in de bewerking van traditionele folksongs. Voornamelijk ballades uit het noordoosten van Schotland, maar ook liedjes uit Ierland, Engeland en de Nieuwe Wereld. Deze liedjes zijn muzikale verhalen over liefde, verlies, triomf en tragedie - veel van deze verhalen zijn al honderden jaren doorgegeven. Verwacht vocale harmonieën, up-beat tribal grooves verzorgd door de "Drum Circle", samen met ingewikkelde melodieën geweven met accordeon en mandoline.

The better Craig in the band will be teaching a mixed rhythms class at Scottish Culture and Traditions - SC&T in Aberdeen this year! Get your groove on and get signed up in the link below! 🥁🪘🎶

SC&T is a great organisation for teaching traditional music in Aberdeen and the whole band have been tutors at various points over the years tutoring: Scots song, ukulele orchestra, bodhran, accordion and mandolin! Check out all this years classes!

NEW MIXED RHYTHM CLASS for SC&T (Tuesdays) !!

Craig Spink is a drummer and percussionist known for playing in the folk group The Paddy Buchanan Band. From playing at Celtic Connections to the Scottish Parliament, performing with The Paddy Buchanan band has given Craig the opportunity to have a deeper understanding and connection with the traditional/folk music scene in Scotland.

Students of his class can expect an introduction into the world of percussion and how it fits into both traditional and contemporary music as a whole with his ultimate goal being to show students that everyone can find their own rhythm!

Unfortunately Kris Drever can no longer perform on Friday 22nd of September.

John won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year in 2003 and has been described as “a musician’s musician” in Phil Cunningham’s words. John is renowned for his skill at transcending musical boundaries and since 2008 he has been a member of Mark Knopfler's studio and touring band. As a live and studio guest he has also performed with David Gilmour, Paul Weller, Paolo Nutini, Teenage Fanclub, Idlewild, The Proclaimers and more!

Tickets already purchased to see Kris Drever remain valid and anyone who requires a refund may claim one.
