✨Wedding Tip Wednesday✨

Consider the backup plan when booking your venue.

I hear it so often from brides, "We booked our venue! We're going to have the ceremony outside and the reception inside." Sounds like a great plan, but what if it rains? It's easy to think "we'll just move everything inside." How will that look logistically? Will your guests sit at their reception tables for the ceremony? Will you flip the room between the ceremony and reception? If so, where will your guests be during that time? Who will physically convert the room? How will your tables be decorated if they aren't already set up?

Think of these logistics BEFORE you book your venue so you aren't caught last minute trying to work out all of these stressful details. Make sure the backup plan is just as satisfying for your wedding day as the initial plan.

✨Wedding Tip Wednesday✨

Not that long ago, it was traditional for the maid of honor to take on a lot of duties on the wedding day: creating seating plans, wrangling bridesmaids and groomsmen, overseeing the rehearsal, gathering and putting away gifts & cards, the list could go on and on. While your number one gal should be ready and willing to help in any way necessary, the wedding industry has changed and those jobs are no longer for her. They are for your coordinator!

She has probably spent quite a bit of money on YOUR wedding. Her dress, shoes, makeup, hair, bachelorette trip, wedding shower, gifts, etc. She has earned a little rest and enjoyment on this day too. Plus, if she's busy dealing with the caterer, who is going to be there to hold your dress up off the ground? Having a wedding party is about being surrounded by those who support and love you and want to have a good time! Leave the worrisome details to the professionals and have a fun day with your bridal party!

It was the most immense honor to coordinate for Kyle and Jen. They are a wonderful example of true, everlasting love. Every detail of their wedding was perfectly fitting from Jen's gorgeous black veil to her and Kyle singing themselves into the reception. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room.

Honeymoon planning can add a great deal of stress to your wedding planning process. The destination possibilities are endless; every resort starts to look the same; hidden fees; unknown details; international travel questions; the list goes on and on! Using a certified and experienced travel agent can unload the majority of that stress and make your honeymoon planning a breeze.

✨Wedding Tip Wednesday✨

First tip of 2023! Tilt your flower toward the camera💐

A seemingly insignificant tip that can make a huge difference in your photos! I hadn't learned this trick yet when John and I got married so you see a lot of "stem" in our photos. Not that the arrangements don't look beautiful but had we tilted those bouquets toward the photographer, we would've seen a lot more of the tops of the flowers and a little less stem.

Ushers

A tradition that is falling by the wayside more and more is the use of ushers. If you are dying to have ushers at your wedding to walk your guest to their seats, feel free! However, if you’re stressing about finding someone to fill that position, don’t! The majority of your wedding guests come with a plus one or a friend. Very few people come alone. Introducing an usher to the mix often makes the arrival and sitting down portion before your ceremony a little awkward. Use appropriate signage to direct your guests and they should have no trouble at all finding a seat.

Personal fan and water bottle

Two items most often needed but forgotten! Even if it’s the dead of winter, all the running around, groups of people, layers of wedding dress, etc. can make you very hot very quickly. You don’t want to sweat and have running makeup or falling hair or become dehydrated. Keep a small fan and designated water bottle with you throughout the day to stay cool and hydrated.

When booking your venue, it is vitally important to know exactly what day and time your rental begins and ends. These details should be included in your contract. That way you know exactly when you can start setting up your wedding decor as well as when everything needs to be cleaned up.
