We met a real live Santa & Mrs. Clause last night 🎅🏼🤶🏻. Amid the hustle and bustle of a busier than usual holiday season Alyssa and I stumbled across some magic- or rather magically wonderful people. For three years we’ve done Bears at the Rockingham County Fair’s Christmas Village. So we’ve met Santa and Mrs. Claus there before, but yesterday we found out that they are the real deal.
Last night, after everything closed down Alyssa and I decided to treat ourselves to some holiday cheer by walking around to look at the lights. We stumbled across the “North Pole” where Santa invited us inside for a closer look. We were in awe of the intricate details and care that went into putting together this magical space that would only see visitors for two nights.(I wish I had taken more pictures)🎄The Clauses provide their own decorations, supplies, and man hours to make this come to life. Not only can you get a free picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but they’ve also recruited the Grinch to take photos with children as well. The fun doesn’t end there; the north pole is also set up for children to make reindeer feed to sprinkle out on Christmas Eve. The the life-size dollhouse 🏠and giant remote control car🏎️ under the tree will be given away this evening to one lucky boy and girl. Kids can even write a letter to Santa and put it in his mailbox and the remarkable part is that Santa and Mrs. Claus will actually write back 📝. At nearly 11pm last night in freezing temperatures we helped Santa and Mrs. Claus unload hundreds of letters that they intended to answer that night, so they can mail the children their return letters in the morning😮. Santa and Mrs. Claus do all this because they love making children happy and enjoy giving them a bit of Christmas magic.
When Alyssa said “it’s amazing how much they seem like the real Santa and Mrs. Claus” I couldn’t agree more. If Santa is a symbol of human kindness and generosity, then we really did meet the real Santa and Mrs. Claus last night.
You can come out and meet them tonight from 4 to 9 PM at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. And one last shout out to our friends at Big Red’s Power Washing L.L.C, for introducing us to Santa’s magic ✨ in this small town.
