Thank you. Thank you for the amazing races you gave us. Thank you for the great sportsmanship you showed. Thank you for proving to us that a great driver can surround himself with a great pit crew and support team time and time again, and win the biggest races we have.

Thank you for the laughs off the track and for wearing your heart on your sleeve. Thank you for showing us how to win, and how to be accepting in defeat. The emotions we saw in you were always real, from the highs to the lows. You have always represented your sponsors in the way every driver should aspire to.

It has been a pleasure to stand in the announcers booth and announce so many ENS races for you.

I’ll miss you greatly. And I hope our paths cross again in the future.

The season is over now and I want to announce something.
After almost 15 years in nitro rc car onroad racing, 1 world champion in 1:10, vize world champion 1:10, 2 times european champion 1:10, ENS champion 1:10, 3 times german champion 1:10, european champion 1:8, ENS champion 1:8, 4 times 1:8 german champion, I will stop with nitro onroad racing from now on. I will not say forever but for the moment yes.
Things have changed and life is going on so I have several reasons to make this decision.
I want to thank all my sponsors for the great support during this years, especially that ones that helped me in the beginning of my career to grow in this class to be a muliple world championship finalist. I was at 7 world championship and 6 times in the final, my worst qualification at a worlds was a 7th place, making me super happy to achieve that togehter with all my friends that helped me in the pit to be competitive like this. Cheers guys!!!!
This means also the departure from most of my sponsors.
I want to thank Patricio Rossi for the great support the last 4 years, we made every final, ENS champions, european champions, german champions, vize world champion.

What a weekend!
An early start today to fly back to London after the ETS - Euro Touring Series R4 in Hann. Münden.

A loooong day on Saturday with about 13 hours of announcing, but ended with one of the best races we’ve ever seen as Modified A1 showed us how great touring car racing is and how professional the likes of Lucas, Ronald and Marc are.

I know how gutted Scotty Ernst was not to be here due to the calendar clash as he prepares for the world-famous Cleveland races. I hope all the racers enjoyed my style of announcing and race directing, and I want to thank them for some great and fair racing through all the classes and finals, and helping us keep to time.

After two intense weeks for me, with the EWS International last week too, it’s time for a short break before I finish up the season at Essex Winter Series - EWS Events R2 in mid-December.

Arrived at Frankfurt airport successfully. However my original plan to take the train had already been put on ICE (haha - attempt at a German Train joke) because of strikes in Germany today. So a rental car it is. But everyone else obviously has the same plan, so a further 1h wait for a car to be ready for me.

Should make it there before midnight, but not in time to catch the last round of practice. So I’ll see you all tomorrow (🤞)

With such a busy calendar for both racers and organisers, Scotty Ernst sadly isn’t able to make the trip over to do his usual job running the show. I’ll be doing my best to keep the ETS Circus on-track and being a great show for the racers and spectators!

This weekend we have our Essex Winter Series - EWS Events EWS International (our biggest ever - how amazing is that?!). So that’s two days behind the microphone for me!

Then off to ETS - Euro Touring Series in Hann Münden the following weekend for another stint in the announcers booth.

Look forward to seeing everyone at those races, do shout hello at me as you go up for your races 😊

As most of you will know, unfortunately Uwe cannot join us this weekend as he’s unwell - the first race in 16 years he’s missed! But with the amazing ENS team of Hartmut and Klaus, we will put on the absolute best race we can!

At the airport waiting to fly home. A long day at the ETS to get all the finals in. I think overall the whole team did an amazing job to manage to get 4 Qualifying rounds and Triple Finals for everyone in to basically 1.5 days!

Again, huge thanks to all the racers for helping us keep to time!

Above all though, there was some fantastic racing in the finals - for me the Modified B Finals were a personal highlight - close racing and amazing to see a number of “stock” guys stepping up and showing they have the skills and speed to run in Modified too!

A very long and busy day today at the ETS - Euro Touring Series! Somehow we managed to get the whole schedule of races in, and that meant finishing under the lights. I want to again thank ALL the racers for working with us so we could hit the schedule and not have to hold up any races.

We have a lot more action tomorrow - finish off Q4 for Pro Stock and Modified, and then get triple finals for everyone in… and yes, we’ll do bump-ups too!

I’m gonna get some sleep now, see you all tomorrow!

Underway with qualifying here at the ETS. A huge effort from the Tonisport and ETS crew to get the track dried this morning. We want to get 4 qualifying rounds in for everyone, so have reduced the run time to 4-minutes. Gotta be on it from the first lap!

It’ll still be a long day, and we’ve brought in floodlights in the hope of running up until about 9:15pm…

Not the best circumstances leading to me heading off to the ETS - Euro Touring Series this weekend. I’ll be doing my best to step into the rather large shoes of Scotty Ernst and keep the show rolling at the famous Arena33. Hopefully I’ll bring some sunnier weather with me than the track got today!

I’m really sorry I therefore can’t be at CMCC - Colchester Model Car Club for the Super GP this weekend, but I know the club will do a great job to make everyone welcome and give you loads of track time across the weekend.

Back home after a very delayed flight to the UK this evening! We had another great ENS - Euro Nitro Series event at AMCA - Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn. Thanks to all the racers for working with us to get through a busy schedule. Even with the high entry number and losing half a day to rain we still got a lot of racing in for everyone.

Big thanks to the club as always for giving us such a wonderful venue to bring the series to! See you all in Leno!

So that’s the RC Bike World Championships done!
Sadly, the weather wasn’t on our side today, with rain non-stop. But we raced on through and still had some great battles across the finals.

Thanks to the RC Bike community for making me feel welcome as the announcer at the event - I really hope you enjoyed my style of running the races in a fun way for everyone.

But even though people see my face the most, I can only do what I do because of an amazing team around. The MAV Aigen-Schlägl Club again proved themselves as one of the best in the world. Timekeeping from Christian and Daniel was perfect, the Technical Inspection team organised as always, and of course all the crew in the canteen kept us fed and hydrated. Also a special thanks to Paul Srna who did an awesome job as race director and kept everything working smoothly… and Martin Mayrhofer for believing in me and asking me to be the voice of the event.

After 4 cold and damp days, it’s time for a long hot bath before we travel back to the UK tomorrow!

Up on the perch again! It’s the RC Bike World Championship in Austria this week. Doing the job of announcing and helping it all to run smoothly. Looks like it will be mixed conditions, but the bikers will race in all weathers, so let’s go!

The dates for our 2023/24 Essex Winter Series and 2023 EWS International are out! Hope to see many of you at the events!

=== 2023/24 SEASON DATES ===
One of the key questions you would have seen on our Driver Survey was around the format of the events.

Whilst a good number of responses were in favour of bigger events, it was clear the majority view was favoured to one-day events. So our 2023/24 Essex Winter Series season will consist again of five, one-day races.

There was also feedback around the EWS International. The ‘big race feel’ is clearly important, but the practice we run on Friday evening was putting some off from attending. Therefore, the 2024 EWS International will just consist of a two-day event for everyone.

Please stay tuned to our page over the coming days and weeks as we finalise more details for our events this winter!

Time to fly home from
ETS - Euro Touring Series R1! A challenging weekend as the track changed a lot and everyone adapted to the new tyres. I was pleased with my car and driving by the end - and most importantly I had fun, which is what this is all about!

Big thanks to the Mugen Seiki Europe Team for great work in the pits and nice chats over dinner and wine! And as always to Jürgen Lautenbach and LRP GmbH for the continual advice and chats!

Big congrats to Eric Dankel for the overall podium in Mod, and to Ronald and Remi for their Modified A Finals results!

Great job by Scotty Ernst, Uwe Rheinard and Hartmut Wenzel for the organisation, and to all the AMCA - Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn team for their amazing work.

Next up is the UK Nationals at Eastbourne, and then ETS at my “home” track of MAV Aigen-Schlägl in Austria. See you there!!

Underway at ETS - Euro Touring Series in Apeldoorn! I was at work yesterday so jumping in the deep end today. A few changes to the car to adapt to the new tyres, but it now feels pretty good and the lap times aren’t too bad for me!

Sometimes you miss things, but you don’t quite realise how much you miss it until you get to do it again!

It feels ages since the last ENS, and despite it being a very busy day for me, it is just awesome to be back! The atmosphere was brilliant, the weather fantastic, and the on-track action amazing too.

Time for dinner but so happy to do it all again tomorrow!

🔵LRP Electronics - Preparation for ETS Apeldoorn🔵

When I was in Apeldoorn for some pre-ETS testing with Ronald Völker, one area we focused on was our LRP GmbH power package.

The easy part was the battery - the Graphene 4 5700 ( #431282) was the choice for Modified, with the right balance between weight and run time. I personally use this pack on all medium-large outdoor tracks, and the 5200 Hyper LCG ( #431272) on some of the smaller tracks we have in the UK.

Motors was an interesting part. We tried both the 5.0t ( #520003) and 5.5t ( #520004) motors. Both had plenty of power, but preferred the 5.0 as I felt it had less fade over the 5-minutes run. But I’ll certainly have the 5.5t ready to try again at the ETS if I need more drivability or if the grip is low and so need more smoothness at the bottom end.

Normally, I run the optional 12.1mm rotor ( #5520503) in the 5.0t motor. However, at Apeldoorn it’s important to get the brakes right - so I will use the 12.3mm rotor ( #520504) for the ETS. Whilst this has more power than the 12.1, it also has stronger brakes - and again should give less fade on those too over the full run. Both the 12.1 and 12.3 will be easier to drive than the standard 12.5 and something I’d absolutely recommend having!

Finally, we always use the -5 insert in the motors. I had used -7.5 in the past, again to make the motors smoother, however if the timing is too low, it can cause excess motor drag (leading to increased heat in the motor), so we now run -5.

Oh! And we always use the optional aluminium end plate ( #520500). Not only does it look trick, but it just helps with a few extra degrees cooling too.

Of course this doesn’t yet cover the ESC settings - that’s probably another post sometime!

Weekend away in The Netherlands for a few days practice at AMCA - Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn! We’ve firstly been working on electronics options to get a good feeling for the LRP GmbH power on this famous track. Now that’s almost sorted, attention turning to tuning the setup of the Mugen Seiki MTC2.

I’ve been away on holiday for the last few weeks. After a very hectic 2022-23, including a really successful EWS championship, it was really good to have a proper break and totally switch off from everything. We had a road trip around Florida, finished off by a few days on beaches in the Bahamas.

I’m now back and will go through messages and emails from the last few weeks - so bear with me if you’ve tried to get in touch recently!

And of course, now refreshed and ready for the 2023 summer season…. More on that very soon 😉

Really sad not to be in Daun this week for the ETS Finals!

I was honoured to be asked to design the track for this important event... after the experience we gained last year in understanding the floor I tried to come up with something which would be a good challenge but also fun in the wide variety of classes at the ETS. I was quite happy with what I designed, but Tim Benson and his team absolutely knocked it out of the park in transforming a drawing on paper to a world-class track!

I'm also pleased to hear comments from drivers that they are loving it too 😀 Let's hope everyone's still got the same opinion at the end of the weekend 😂

I've penned a number of tracks for the ETS over the years, along with EWS tracks and others around the UK and Europe. Who knows what is next!

As we all knew it would be, another perfect event by the team. Super professional and certainly a bar that we try to match with our own Essex Winter Series - EWS Events! But it’s also nice to be such good friends with them that we continue to learn from each other too!

Also was nice this weekend to again work with Ronald Völker RC. Another close fight for him with the usual contenders, the close lap times show how fine the margins are!

I sadly won’t be at the ETS next weekend as we have a family holiday, but looking forward to seeing everyone fight it out again on-track very soon!

This weekend it’s time to put down the microphone and pick up the transmitter! I’m in Longwy, France for the GP3F. The MRC Longwy club have again done an outstanding job in organising the event - if you’ve never been, it’s one to add to your RC Bucket List!

It’s great for me to spend the weekend with the Mugen Seiki Europe drivers and the LRP GmbH guys… great fun and teamwork!

We are ready to kick off our ENS Season 2022! We're very proud to be guests again at the wonderful Fiorano track for R1 of the season. The race will be 12-15 May 2022, with our regular ENS timeschedule - Free Practice on Thursday, Timed Practice/Qualifying Friday, Qualifying/Lower Finals Saturday, and Main Finals Sunday.

With all the success we've had, we're not making any changes to our rules and regulations - let's get back to racing!

We get to this weekend and the final event in our Essex Winter Series (EWS) 10th Anniversary Season. I wanted to pause to just say thank you to everyone for an amazing winter of racing!

In any ‘normal’ year, it takes an awful lot to organise our events. This year, you can basically double that effort needed! Yet, despite that, we are all amazed and humbled we’ve had a totally booked-out championship and had so many people wanting to be part of our events.

So, whether you raced just once, or for the whole series, watched online, commented on our posts or even just interacted with drivers who were at the event - THANK YOU. Your support makes all this effort for all of us worthwhile.
