Did you know that in French, a canapé is literally a sofa? Back in the 1800s, when a chef created a new type of hors d’oeuvre by putting a savoury topping on a piece of bread or toast, the topping was thought to sit on the bread like a person sitting on a sofa, and so the snack came to be called a ‘canapé’.

We can't say for sure that this is the exact origin of the word, but what we can say for sure is that they are a game-changer in event catering and we love it!

From Soy Glazed Pork Belly, Lamb Koftas, Tempura Prawn Skewers, to Quail Scotch Eggs or Goats Cheese Tartlets, the sky's the limit when it comes to these small bites of goodness!

Carla and Will's wedding was something truly special! 🥰

Through the nature of our work, we get to meet and work with a LOT of beautiful people but this one felt surreal!

There was so much kindness and joy and laughter and happiness during these 2 days we got to spend with them, it filled us up for months to come! ✨✨

We got to cater a perfect selection of Canapés and a 2-Course Feasting Style Wedding Breakfast on the big day, as well as a gorgeous celebratory BBQ Menu for 250 guests on the Sunday including Monkfish Kebabs, Grilled Barbecue Jackfruit, Tandoori Chicken Breast and Handmade Cotswold Beef Burgers. Our kind of feast! 🥳🥳

Thank you to everyone who helped us and thank you to Carla and Will and their wonderful family and friends for making it all truly memorable! 🫶🥂

This one was a BBQ Wedding Reception like no other and it was amazing! ✨

When Issy from first got in touch and enquired about the catering for her wedding, we knew it would be a special one!

We fell in love almost instantly with her and Jack's idea for their special day - they want it to be themed "The Grand Picnic" and take place at their working family farm, the very special , where all the meat would be sourced from.

Inspired by the history of the farm and wanting to maximize its potential, Jay, together with Pete and Ali from , created a fully tailored menu for the entire day.

From the Canapés like Soy Glazed Pork Belly with Lime and Apple Puree & Crackling, to the Cold Meats board on the Grazing Table, all the way through to the Evening Food (Pulled Pork / Bacon / Sausage Baps) - it was a feast to remember!

We couldn't be more grateful to Issy and Jack for giving us to opportunity to create something out of the ordinary for their wedding day! ❤🥂

We feel humbled to be on the same list as some of the most respectable catering companies in the UK and are beyond excited to start working on our first events there.

Cornwell Manor is one of the most quintessentially English wedding venues, loved mostly for its timeless elegance. Nothing depicts British lifestyle better than this classic and historic Oxforshire estate which has one of England's most elegant houses at its heart.

We've had a crazy busy month with tastings galore and we've loved every minute of it! 🙌🙌

It's such a tremendous treat getting to know our future clients and finding out their vision for their special day! 📒🖌

Every tasting feels like a reunion where everyone gets to share their ideas and together we come up with amazing concepts that will take shape in the months to come - feeling privileged doesn't even cut it! ☺️🙏

And we love our cosy tasting room, makes everything feel so at ease!

Our lovely clients wanted a simple, yet rich in goodness grazing table served in a picture-perfect setup, enjoyed with some nice chilled organic drinks. Done and done! 💯🥂

🧘 - what an extraordinary community!

We had the pleasure to cater for this beautiful corporate group last week and it was so much more than what we expected!

As much as we enjoy catering for large events, this kind of more intimate gatherings hold a very special place in our hearts.

We had time to slow down and get to find out what they're doing and why, be inspired and broaden our horizons, all while preparing the most delicious plant-based BBQ we've done in a long time. Such a treat all round!

One of the main takeaways for us was how important it is for them to take time and recharge so they can enjoy their work even more. Paramount! And watching the chilled yoga session taught by .cameo right when the sun was coming out was pure delight.

This is why we love what we do so much, because it brings us closer to amazing individuals and allows us to witness and be a part of what matters most to them and for this privilege we are eternally grateful.

Chicken is a classic Wedding Breakfast main course, but at Reeka we have put our own spin on it. Both our plated and signature feasting style menus feature a chicken option, but our Caramelised Peruvian Chicken with a Spicy Jalapeño Sauce always goes down a treat!

Reeka Events are now an official catering partner of Norton Grounds!

This is a venue we have worked at a number of times now and it's a privilege to be given this title.

Reeka chefs Jay & Pete have recently returned from catering a wellness retreat in the south of Portugal

During their stay, Reeka freshly prepared a number of dishes and juices tailored to the plant-based nature of the retreat.

Spending some time in the sunshine has left us reminiscing on last years summer events ☀️🤍
