This is a premiere card league for poker and blackjack players. All of our events are at local bars and clubs right here in San Antonio. The card games are always free and do not have a buy in. You will have opportunities to get extra bonus chips before and during the games. Most all of the games will have a cash prize and some gift prizes. Occasionally, there may be a special event with a large gift only prize. Something like a free TV or trip to Cancun. You will know ahead of time before the event starts. In addition to events where games are held, we will also have events for training clinics and practice sessions for those who would like to learn.
Play at a venue for free and earn points in the league. You can also earn a cash prize or gift cards for 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd place finishes on a given night. The league runs for 13 weeks or each quarter of the year. League nights will run for 12 weeks. Then on week 13 there will be a special playoff venue where league members compete for $500 in cash prizes.

Each Venue will have different cash prizes and gift card amounts. Details for each event will be placed in each event section on MeetUp.
Earning Points:
Poker Games(Hold Em, PLO, Pineapple, 3 card Hold Em): Event night is held just like a tournament that you’ve seen on TV. You earn points based upon the amount of entrants into the tournament. 10 points is awarded per player that you outlast starting from the 1st person out being worth 10 points. For example, if there are 15 players for the tournament, the first person out gets 10 points. The 4th person out gets 40 points. The 10th person out gets 100 points. Finally, first place finisher would be awarded 150 points.
BlackJack: BlackJack works a little like the Poker where a tournament program will be running to control the action, however, instead of blinds, you will have minimum and maximum bets that change each level. You don’t necessarily have to be knocked out or knock others out of the tournament. When the tournament clock stops after 3 hours, chips will be added up and points are awarded based upon your chip counts ranking. For example, if you have the most chips you are in first and earn 10 points times number of players.
Quarterly Tournaments:
In order to qualify for the quarterly tournament, a player must have earned at least 500 points during the 12 week season. A player will be awarded 1K in starting chips per 100 points he/she has. A total of 5 places will be paid for this event. 1st place $250.00, 2ndplace $100.00, 3rd place $75.00, 4th place $50.00, 5thplace $25.00. Bonus chips can be earned just like a normal event night.
Bonus Chips:
Drinks and Food Bonus: Earn 1K in chips for every $3 you spend on food and drinks rounded up the nearest $3. The chips can be earned up to 1 hour before the event all the way to the point you are out of the tournmanet. Ask your server/bartender for a receipt when you make a purchase. Write your member number on the receipt and turn it into the tournament host. The host will then award your extra chips. At the end of the night, we will track how much you spent at the Venue. You will be awarded extra points to your league total score. In addition, the top 15 customers will be invited to a VIP event.
Running a Bar tab? No problem – your bartender will track your spending and award you tournament chips as you earn them on your tab. Be sure to ask every time you add to your tab so you can get the maximum benefit.
Social Media:
RSVP on MeetUp.com for an additional 2K bonus chips – Facebook: Check in to our page before the cards fly and get 2K bonus chips. You must show the tournament host that you completed a social media bonus. A verbal statement of a check in or RSVP is not sufficient.
Bring a new member bonus: If you bring a new member for the first time, you will get 5K in chips and the new member will get 5K in chips.
Early arrival bonus: We appreciate our members arriving early. Arrive 30 mins or more before and get 2K bonus chips.
Venue Specific Bonus: Sometimes a particular venue will have bonuses that are specific to that location. Please be sure to check MeetUp or FaceBook for additional bonuses.
Dealers:
Huckleberry Card League Dealer Associate – You can become a dealer associate which makes you part of the card league team. You must be reliable, dependable, honest, fair, and have good knowledge of the games. A dealer associate earns 5K chips for the night of the event and 10K chips coupon to be used at the next event they deal at. This would give an associate dealer the ability to start with 15K chips extra per venue event after the first one. You must finish an event you deal from start to finish.
Venue Dealer - A venue dealer earns 5K chips for the night of the event and 5K chips coupon to be used at the next event they deal or play at. This would give a venue dealer the ability to start with 10K chips extra per venue event after the first one. You must finish an event you deal from start to finish.

High Hand bonus – earn 10 bonus points for the high hand of the night.
Rules for the card games:
The Huckleberry Card League will follow the WSOP rules for Hold Em, PLO, Pineapple, 5 card stud.
For BlackJack, we will follow the WSOP rules for BlackJack.
Rules for dealers –
Be sure to show up early if you want to deal. Let the tournament host know you would like to deal. You must deal the entire length of the game or until you can be properly relieved. If you happen to lose early and would like to leave, please let the host know and they will do their best to relieve you. Remember, you will get bonus chips for completing the entire night.
Please make sure if you want to deal that you are capable and knowledgeable about the game. A slow dealer will make the game less enjoyable so be sure you have some proficiency.
If there are no dealers who would like to deal, then the deal will be passed around the table from player to player.
