It’s been another busy fall season, and I haven’t posted as much as I’d like to.

Friday night I had the pleasure of DJ’ing for yet another wonderful couple at a new venue (for me) The Hideaway at Crooked Creek.

Out of the 25 weddings on the books for 2022, 18 of them have been venues that I’ve never DJ’ed at before. I enjoy discovering all of these amazing venues spread out across the triad area.

Been a while since I posted but finished up my 3rd wedding in 3 weeks at Vintage Oaks Farm. This family was wonderful and I’m so happy they chose me as their DJ.

That’s a wrap! 10 weddings in the past 10 weeks! I met some amazing people along the way, ate some delicious food, grew my business and learned a lot.

I amazingly only DJ’ed one repeat venue this year so I also got to visit some great new event spaces. My favorite venue this year was the Greensboro Science Center. It was a such a unique experience.

A little background on me....

These pictures are from my sister's wedding. She asked me to DJ her wedding because she knew how much of a music lover I was and she thought I'd be good at it. I had never DJ'd a wedding before. I did have some experience managing a live music venue and with that came some DJ'ing experience on an as needed basis but nothing that would've qualified me for this gig. Primarily her confidence in me came from my wide knowledge and love of music and live shows.

I spent many many hours preparing for this gig because I was afraid I wouldn't have the right song or create the right mood. Of course I was also incredibly nervous of being the main event with all eyes on me for the duration of the reception.

I'm happy to say that things went perfectly that night for what would end up being my first of many many gigs as a DJ. My parents and siblings all ended up on the dance floor for what now are some of my favorite adult memories of us as a family.

That night a fire was lit inside me and my natural affinity and love for music took an unexpected turn and led to a family favor, becoming a business. I have been actively DJ'ing weddings, parties and events of all kinds since that night.

I always remind my sister that this business was all started because of her belief in me and for that unexpected opportunity. To this day, my most robust wedding playlists still carry her name from that first wedding.

This is my family and who I do this for. Melanie, Wyatt and Presley. They are my biggest fans and they are subjected to my rehearsing and testing of new equipment. They put up with loud music and strobe lights from time to time.
