⛰ Lighting & Layouts...

Lets get technical! This old barn can fit up to 150 guests comfortably, seated for ceremony then the meal.

This can be in rows of trestle tables or on round tables. Then we change it for dancing space later on. There are pro's and con's to each style of layout.

We can guide you on all of this and more! 👌

🌠Have you thought about the lighting options? This is an easy way of adding atmosphere and changing the mood for the evening. Perhaps your more into fairy lights or festoons? Maybe you like a backdrop or an Eddison feature? Candles and uplighters?

🎆 Decoration can be kept very simple or you can add some pops of wow around the place. We love anything that shows your personalities and stands out using the technique of contrasting. Design doesn't have to be a chore, some love it! Either way we have your back.

🎇 The team behind the kit and the arranging, we can help with. We will guide you through booking, planning and on the day so no task seems too much. Do you know what's worth it for the time and budget? We do so lets chat it through.

No idea is bad or wrong. You do you and enjoy it! We will just help where we can. 🌟

We have been nominated!!!

Whoever it was that thought of us for this, we send you the biggest, warmest hug! Even to be nominated feels like a huge achievement. Once upon a time this was just a farm barn, filled with sheep and machinery. Now we are being chosen to go for a Wedding award!!

⛰ Introducing the Wedding Team...

Barn in the Fells has a glorious team of pro's involved to help make each wedding not just flow smoothly but feel fun and relaxed.

Lets start with the amazing Owner, Sharon... wrangler of workmen and paperwork whizz who then transforms into Bar & Venue Manager. She hosts the tours and makes sure the site is at its best. What a journey she has been on too!

Annabel, owner of , is the Wedding Manager and plan creator. With over 15 years under her wedding belt, she is the consultant who makes sure each DIY wedding has support and advice on tap.

Annabel has a dedicated team of experienced event specialists to share with the site too....
Lindsey (pictured having a giggle!): Having been involved in some major venues in Cumbria, Lindsey comes to WBA with bags of experience. Working alongside venue owners, colleagues and clients, she coordinated and planned many events, each with DIY elements. She has seen a lot, good and bad! She is joining the team to help Annabel’s lengthy admin tasks, event coordination and venue portfolio. They just need to stop chatting and actually get some work done now…!!!!!

Heather (pictured with the beautiful bouquet!): After Annabel being part of Heather’s wedding, she knew Heather could be a valuable asset when she started her own planning role. Juggling new baby and new business, Heather joins with a ton of experience in the world of weddings in Cumbria. What she doesn't know about weddings isn't worth knowing!

Kat (pictured with the blue hat!): Having a family member on the team could lead to danger but actually, its a great match! Being Annabel’s sister, they know each other very well, so tasks are handed over terribly easily! Every time they meet they share ideas and contacts. Both have a history in events and many creatives in the family tree. It can only be a good thing!

Lets not forget the fantastic Hogg! Herder of sheep and then people! He won't admit it but he loves dabbling in the world of weddings!

So, that's us and I hope you agree you are in safe hands!

Thanks so much to all the team who helped create a fantastic Open Weekend and all those who came to say hello!

The feedback has been amazing and even though the temperature was cold and some jobs are still pending, we felt the love!

Its always a first come first served so make sure you get a date pencilled in at least!

You can bet that the price only has to go up too.

If you are keen on something, be brave, get your name on it!

⛰ What's the big deal about an Open Day anyway?

If you haven't been to an Open Day or just don't get why you would even bother, lets shed some light on that...

- Take an easy wander - You can stroll with freedom!

- Take some pics - Good opportunity to get some raw shots.

- Walk'n'talk - Time with your fave person to discuss what you like / don't like about a place.

- Make a day of it - We are only 5min walk from Ambleside or a glorious fell!

- Ask questions - Any pro's there are happy to share some nuggets of info with you so ask away!
.. Also, why the hell not!? What a lovely way to spend some time in the !

From even the few weddings we have hosted so far, this lesson is huge. Not only does it effect your budget and items ticked off but the feel for the day and memories after.

We have a list of wonderful suppliers that have been here and know us and the site. Each enquiry gets this list as a super handy place to start. 👌
