It's tax time..have you filed already? If not time.is winding down(I'm talking to myself lol...I owe so I'm in no rush though).

Here are some new rules for 2023. While I do have someone that does my taxes for me I like to make sure I'm familiar with all the rules because I want to make sure everything is done correctly (my taxes are a bit complicated).

On the go meals. I am trying to stop eating out as much as I do. Wednesdays I'm out of the house in the evenings so I've been buying food out. Well today I decided to make my dinner before leaving. I'm so glad I did. Air fried pork chops, yellow rice and broccoli is what's on the menu.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and many people go out to dinner to enjoy a great meal.
I have a confession...I do not like to go to restaurants on holidays as it's usually too crowded and I don't feel like the service is the best because of the crowds.

It was just me and my son last night as Dad had to work and my son asked me to make his favorite meal...Lobster Tails.

Today is for Heart Disease

This one is personal for me! I have Heart Failure and was diagnosed at the age of 43. Thankfully at this time my heart function is normal but at diagnosis my heart was only functioning at 20% and I had no idea.

Heart Disease is a silent killer, especially for black women. I encourage you all to see your doctors and know your numbers. Also please pay attention to your body...if something feels off please go get checked. If your doctor is not listening to you find a doctor that will.

We are in the 1st week of the new year and many people have set goals for the year.

Have you set any fitness goals? Health is very important and I encourage anyone that is struggling with any health struggles to get started in taking your life back. You don't have to be extreme..start small and work your way up. It could be as simple as doing 15 min of exercise (some form of movement) each day and eating 2 healthy meals a week. Once you get in routine then you can add more items. Whatever you do just keep going even when you slip...its ok just start over. You can do this! We can do this!

I strongly believe everyone should have a passport. Please also make sure your passport has at least 6 months before expiration before international travel (check your destination country as time frame could be different).
