The 2nd annual ROC RAIDA CHALLENGE kicks-off next weekend!
Over the course of 2 weeks, 15 Brolic Army DJ School students will get the chance to honor the memory of @roc4raida by showcasing their beat juggling prowess with his classic "Unassisted" routine. The challenge officially begins Sunday, May 1st at 12 p.m. (EST) and will run through May 16th. The top 3 students will be announced on Roc Raida's birthday, May 17th!

Judges scores in for my DJ Routine for the Brolic Army Civil War Battle For Supremecy.
As a battle DJ, the music you choose to work with really help us forge our own individual identities behind the turntables. I'm speaking from experience. I was never the fastest, flashiest or most technical DJ but my catalogue of battle routines always featured songs no one else was using.
This is one of the things that really stands out for me in this preliminary set courtesy of DJ Backbeat. He picked a song I'm sure no one was thinking about flipping for this competition.
That said, the style of music you choose to work with can also push the direction of your ideas. The complex rhythms you hear in Backbeat's juggles is evident of that!

Really smooth intro and even peeped the set was on vinyl which in my opinion is pretty tedious and it definitely deserves respect! Loved the song choice and the juggles were executed as cleanly as possible.

Tip: Not too much to say here, Good technique, different music selection, and scratches were on point. Kudos for not using AHHHH to scratch with!
