🥳🥳 CONRATULATIONS TO EVERY SINGLE COMPETITOR WHO STOOD ON THE START LINE YESTERDAY AT THE MITRE 10 MEGA TAURANGA CITY TO SURF

While we know there are some who don't make it to the finish line , standing on any start line is a big goal achieved in itself. Finishing it is the other part! We hope you are all proud of your efforts yesterday in what turned out to be a stunning day in the Bay of Plenty, if not maybe a bit too hot 🥵

We witnessed blood, sweat and tears at the finish line, but the most common thing were the SMILES. That sense of personal accomplishment and pride just can't be beaten!

🏅🏅 For those who missed out on medals, we will be sending these out to you as soon as we receive them, Once again we apologise to you for having to go away empty handed. The best part of the day is hanging those medals around your neck and we understand the disappointment. We felt it too 🥹

😎 We want to extend a great big thank you to our marshals and volunteer groups who helped bring this event to life. We couldn't do it without you ALL 🙏

The most inspiring finish of the day. Chris walked 21.1kms in full fireman kit! His motivation as a volunteer firefighter is to bring awareness to everyone who volunteers their time in these important roles in our community.

Massive congratulations in achieving your goals Chris. The whole crowd was bringing you home! And thank you to the person who donated their medal to make sure he received one. Please contact us so we can send you a replacement 💖 community spirit on show today at the Mount Maunganui main beach.

📣📣 FINAL EVENT INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY'S MITRE 10 MEGA CITY TO SURF 🏃🏃

💌 All 2,100 registered participants will be receiving an email shortly, but all the information you need is on our website, as well as a link to the Final Competitor Notes.

😎 Late entries are available at the START LINE of the event you wish to enter. Check our website for full details.

🧐 If you have pre-entered an event and wish to change the distance, please go to the START LINE of the event you WANT to do to make the transfer.

🚌 Shuttle buses leave from Mount Surf Club to deliver you to the start line of the 21.1km/11km events from 7:15am. Last bus will leave at 9:15am. $5 cash if you have not pre booked the bus. Please Note: there is NO transport provided back to Sulphur Point after the race.

We can't wait to welcome you onto the Mount Main Beach on Sunday morning.

📣📣 MITRE 10 MEGA TAURANGA CITY TO SURF ONLINE ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED!

NEVER FEAR - you can still enter on the day at our registration venues.

🏃‍♀️ 21.1km and 11km start/registration is in the Tauranga Yacht and Powerboat Club, Keith Allen Drive, Sulphur Point, Tauranga
🏃‍♀️ 5km start/registration is in the empty shop between Dixie Browns and Monte Gelato, Marine Parade, Mount Main Beach

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ON THE DAY ENTRIES - ensure you go to the correct registration as you can ONLY register at the start line of your intended event distance.

If you wish to catch the shuttle bus to the 21.1km/11km start line, you can hop on at the Mount Surf Club without pre-booking. We do not have eftpos at the bus, so it's $5 CASH only! Last bus departs the Mount at 9:15am.

📣📣 MITRE 10 MEGA CITY TO SURF SHUTTLE SERVICE 🚌🚌

For the 21.1km and 11km events only! Park at MOUNT MAUNGANUI at the finish line, and then shuttle to the start line!

TICKETS - shuttle tickets can be purchased when you enter online or there are limited spaces to bring $5 cash on the day and jump on! If you pre-purchased your ticket, please bring your confirmation email with you if possible, otherwise we will have a list of names.

DEPARTURES - from outside the Mount Surf Club - we just fill a bus and send it on its way!
⏱ From 7:15am for 21.1km
⏱ From 8:15am for 11km
⏰ 9:15am is the last bus, so don't miss it or you will need to find your own way 😭

GEAR - there will be a truck at the start line to leave your gear, which will then be taken to the finish line for collection after the event.

⛅️🌦 The long range forecast is looking overcast with light winds and maybe some showers sprinkled in there, which are ideal conditions for completing a run/walk.

🏃 Jarden 21.1km half marathon run/walk
🏃 United Airlines 11km run/walk
🏃 Bay of Plenty Times 5km run/walk

All distances takes in a lap of the mighty Mauao base track and finish on the sand of the Mount Main Beach, highlighting the best parts this amazing city has to offer.

Every finisher receives a 🏅 medal for their efforts, and there are plenty of spot prizes on offer for all competitors from our amazing sponsors, including the major spot prize of flights for 2 people ex Auckland to San Francisco thanks to United Airlines ✈️. Stick around for prizegiving as you have to be there to win!

💪 Corporates and Clubs/Gyms can also fight for bragging rights in the 11km City to Surf Team Challenge.
