One of my favorite desserts from my home across the sea is a Chamoru custard cake called Latiya (pronounced lah-tee-zah). It has a pound cake base topped with a light custard then sprinkled with cinnamon. When asked what it tastes like, we equate it to an horchata flavored cake. Just the right amount of sweetness that will keep you wanting more. Come see us at , Peoria every Saturday from 9am to 1pm or catch us at one of the many festivals in the valley!

And like this day couldn’t get any worse. Long story short… our truck had a dead battery this morning before we left for Fall Fest in Mesa. Had to head back home from picking up our food so I could help Nestor jump the truck. It took a little over an hour for him to get to the AZ Athletic Grounds whilst sitting in a hot truck. When he got to the festival, we started to set up (we were very late, of course). Apparently, we were illegally parked at a dock so we had to move it, but the battery was dead again. Our coordinator’s hubby was gracious enough to help us physically 💪🏼 remove the truck from the spot. But that required undoing our set-up because our tent was in the way. After we got things squared away, we continued to set up and it’s just HOT 🥵. Nestor began to show really bad signs of heat exhaustion. A fellow food vendor took him inside the building to cool off. By that time, he was already delirious and the paramedics were on their way. We shut down for the rest of the day. We probably made $20. 😭

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped us pack everything up and for taking care of everything while we deal with this. You guys are amazing. ♥️ I’m just done for today. 3 hours of sleep, no food, probably dehydrated too right now. We apologize to everyone who came out to see us when we were not there to serve you. 😔

I think we need to make more. 🤔 205 doesn’t seem like enough for Fall Fest this Saturday, Sept 28! It’s going to be a great weekend! Hope to see you at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa!!
