Cristiano Ronaldo, Rodriguez ‘kills it’ at MTV EMA as Burna Boy wins award

Five-time Balon d’Or winner and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo alongside Georgina Rodriguez, his girlfriend showed they knew how to turn up in style as they arrived at yesterday’s 2019 MTV EMA Awards in Spain.
Amongst the awardees at the 2019 MTV EMA’s was Nigeria’s own Burna Boy who defeated the likes of fellow Nigerian artiste Teni, South Africa’s Prince Kaybee and Nasty C, Harmonize from Tanzania and Togo’s TooFan to emerge winner of the Best African Act category.

The event which took place in the city of Seville, saw Ronaldo in bright red blazers while his model girlfriend looked gorgeous in a blue dress. Rodriguez mounted the stage at the MTV EMA to present an award while Ronaldo looked on from his seat with fans cheering as he was shown on the screen.

I’m sad to be a Ghanaian – Yvonne Nelson explains why

Ghanaian actress and film producer, Yvonne Nelson, has disclosed that she is saddened about the poor governance by the current and past administrations in driving a monumental change in the lives of Ghanaians.

Ms Nelson, who was asked to rate the performance of the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government when she appeared on Class91.3FM’s Touch of Class on Monday, 4 November 2019, told the host Natalia Andoh that: “It’s the same; from the last government [National Democratic Congress (NDC], nothing new”.

In her opinion “leadership in this country…I don’t even know what to say because when I look around me, it saddens me to be Ghanaian”.

She said “we have so much potential, we have everything…There is this neo-colonisation thing going on. We are pretending; we keep covering things and the youth is sleeping, they don’t know what is going on, they don’t read, they don’t ask questions...

Ms Nelson noted that she may consider playing an active role in politics and will not rule out the possibility of being the first female president of the country.

Responding to social media comments about her involvement in politics after being vocal about several developmental issues the multiple award-winning actress said: “Maybe, I will, I will do some politics; it is 50-50 that is why I am back in school doing International Relations”.

Ms Nelson, who produced ‘Single and Married’ in 2012 and ‘House of Gold’ in 2013 articulated that she loves human rights and gender activism as well as tourism. For her, she would like to play an active role in the tourism sector and would not mind spearheading a tourism campaign.

Asked by the host if she was looking at being a Tourism Minister by 2028, she retorted: “I don’t know, maybe the President, you never know, the first female president of Ghana…God just…you know…he is guiding me so I am taking it slow”.

Burna Boy wins MTV EMAS award (Full winners list)

Burna Boy has won the Best African Act category at the 2019 MTV EMAs awards in Seville, Spain, the second international award he clinched this year.
He also won the Best International Act award at the 2019 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

For the MTV award, the African Giant Burna Boy beat Nigerian Teni, Prince Kaybee (South Africa), TooFan (Togo), Nasty C (South Africa) and Harmonize (Tanzania) – the event took place on Sunday night at the FIBES Conference & Exhibition Centre.
Burna Boy did not attend the presentation as he was holding a concert at SSE Arena in Wembley, London.

With Burna Boy winning the award, Nigerian musicians have now clinched it the fourth time in a row. Wizkid won it in 2016, Davido 2017, Tiwa Savage in 2018.

Watch Burna Boy Bring Out Wizkid For A Performance At His Majestic Concert At The Wembley SSE Arena In London

About 2 weeks ago at the Starboy Fest at the London O2 Arena, Wizkid brought out Burna Boy for a performance and it was a blast.

Both superstars dished out glorious showmanship to the crowd inside the arena and it was a great time. Meanwhile, part 2 of that performance happened yesterday at Burna Boy’s concert inside the 12,000 capacity hall of the Wembley SSE Arena and like it was at the O2 Arena, the audience was thrilled as Wizkid reciprocated the love Burna showed him by gracing the stage to support the African giant.

Wizkid, Beyonce Finally Shoot Music Video For ‘Brown Skin Girl’

The video is presently being shot in a number of locations across London with some of it being shot in Catford and Thamesmead, respectively.
Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid and American singer,
Beyoncé Knowles, has called on people to appear on ‘The Lion King ‘ the gift video
Nigerian superstar, Wizkid and the American singer, Beyonce have commenced shooting the music video for fans favourite song ‘Brown Skin Girl.’
According to a British tabloid, the 38 years old American singer has called on black and brown people of different cultures, nationalities, ethnicities, genders and ages to come tell their stories.
The video is presently being shot in a number of locations across London with some of it being shot in Catford and Thamesmead, respectively.
The video would be directed by a Nigerian, Jenn Nkiru who was Born in Peckham, England. Nkiru had also worked with Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z on their smash hit single, ‘Apesh*t’ in 2018.
Another incredible video shot at the Louvre was also directed by Nkiru.
We recalls that the Africa/American tracks on Beyonce’s album, ‘The Lion King’, featured Wizkid, Burna Boy, Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade, among others.

Actress Regina Daniels denies rumour that her best friend was allegedly chased out for trying to seduce her husband

- Actress Regina Daniels reportedly recently had a fall out with a best friend that resulted in rumours of betrayal

- The actress, who deleted all the pictures of her friend, Cassie, from her Instagram page, was said to have sent her packing

- A rumour that the fall out happened because Cassie tried to seduce Ned Nwoko spread

- However, the actress has denied the rumours, saying Cassie left the house due to other reasons

Popular Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has reportedly come to the defense of her best friend, Cassie, after rumours spread that the actress' best friend tried to seduce her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko.

It was reported that Daniels had a fall out with Cassie and she deleted all her photos from her Instagram page. It was also alleged that the fall out allegedly happened between the friends after Cassie was caught trying to seduce Nwoko.

In a report the actress allegedly revealed that her friend was sent out for other reasons which she refused to disclose, stating that she would like to keep her private life to herself.

Video: Blackface condemns Tiwa’s lyrics, says artistes have lost sense of belonging

Blackface.

Nigerian dancehall singer and songwriter Blackface has urged Nigerian artistes to up their game when it comes to lyrics of the song they put out to the public.

While speaking on MAX FM, the co-writer of “African Queen” with 2baba said he discovered that over the years, lyrics have become flimsy, adding that some artistes have lost their sense of authenticity.

According to Blackface, the ladies in the industry are now saying things that do not portray how a lady should talk or be viewed in our society.

Although, he didn’t mention Tiwa Savage but pointed at her lyrics in Zlatan Ibile’s single Shotan as an example of out-of-place lyrics.
