CARNFORTH BIG WEEKEND - CARNFORTH BIG JUBILEE LUNCH SATURDAY 4th JUNE

GOOD COMPANY - Kev and Chris have been friends for years but it was only when they met Trish in a small guitar group that the idea of forming a performing trio started to take shape.

Primarily a covers band, all three members have written their own material and occasionally throw an original song into their sets. Formed out of friendship it was appropariate and perhaps inevitable the Good Company was born.

Footnote: Chris - on the left - is Carnforth Town Mayor for 2022/23!😃

CARNFORTH BIG JUBILEE WEEKEND - FINAL APPEAL

Two days from now will be that start of an unprecedented four days of celebrations for our Queen and Community.

We know that you will appreciate the immense amount of work that goes into any event - let alone one as ambitious as this one - but we do know that all the long hours of planning and organising it will all be worth it.

Of course, it will all be made possible, and successful, by the Carnforth community getting involved as only it can, whether that be attending any (or all) of the events or being one of our marshalls and volunteers.

We have a range of craft vendors for you to enjoy throughout the day.

The first one we would like to introduce you to is the amazing Love Me Again by Ali who sell beautiful candle and wax melts all using recycled pots/jars that have been reused or sourced from charity shops; helping to spend locally and recycle!

All container candles, wax melts, bouquets and flower rings are made with 100% soy wax and are Vegan friendly too - not to mention they all come in a range of luscious scents.

North Sea Hijack are a super-tight, instrumental funk fusion trio from Lancaster., The band are: James Mackie (ex-Selecter and Madness and Hammond player for Get Carter) on keyboards, Jo Cutler (The Convulsions) on bass, James Barrett on drums.

They will be with us for the Carnforth Big Jubilee Lunch on Saturday 4th June at the War Memorial Gardens from 6pm.

This is when our third, and final, Big Jubilee Lunch sittings ends so that everyone cane enjoy their performance.

The Fourth Colour are a rocktastic four-piece band who perform classic rock - right up HM the Queen's street! Well on this occasion it will be Market Street on Saturday 4th June for the Carnforth Big Jubilee Lunch.

They are a popular local band, and we are really pleased that they will be joining us.

Catch them from 3:50pm at the War Memorial Gardens, just before the third and final sitting of the day starts at 4pm.

You do not have to have a table to enjoy the many things on offer, including .

Sports Day Friday 3rd June, Carnforth High School from noon:
We are delighted to announce that we will have 8 table-football units under a big marquee on the day, with staff on hand with whistles keeping time and ensuring fair play!

Each game will be 15 minutes long and up to 32 children/adults playing at a time - that's a possible 640 people between noon and 5pm!

All tables are totally child-safe and there will be step stools available for the younger children.

In addition, there will be street games including Connect4 and a Giant Snakes & Ladders provided by our friends at R Leisure Hire.
Along with the great sporting actvities for all children aged 5 - 11 (with a few adult ones thrown in) and the promise of good weather this is yet another Platinum Jubilee Day that you will not want to miss!
