Authenticity is knowing who you are. It's embracing who you are. It's being FEARLESS and BRAVE. It's being VULNERABLE and TRANSPARENT.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️ It's being unapologetically you ⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you ever experienced a struggle with authenticity on social media?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For a little inspiration on how to show your TRUE SELF to the (technological) world, check out this new guest post on my blog from Travel Coach and Authenticity Queen, Kiersten Brown

Let's be real, there's a lot of negative things going on in our outer world. While it's nearly impossible to control the things going on around us, we can control the things going on WITHIN us—and this begins with our thoughts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our thoughts are manifested into our reality through our language. Therefore, a negative thought causes us to speak negatively, which brings that negativity into our reality.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes our minds fall into the negativity trap based on external influences. While it's easy to focus on fear and scarcity in these times, it's POSSIBLE to focus on the opposite.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's possible to choose how we think, speak, and see our lives.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's possible to shut negative Nancy up and let positive Pam take the microphone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's possible to control our INNER world at any given moment, no matter the circumstances of our outer world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For more on how to reframe negative thoughts and language patterns, check out my latest blog post in the link below.

Negative thoughts lead to negative language, which leads to a negative reality. Choose your words wisely to quit being a "negative Nancy".

You ever find yourself in a situation where you feel like everything in your life just SUCKS?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This happened to me on a 13 hour bus ride from Thailand to Cambodia on a narrow pot-hole infested road when the air con broke and it was 1,000 degrees outside and smelled like a backpacker hostel bathroom 💩
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
See I could have complained about this crappy situation. But instead, I chose to focus on the POSITIVE.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like the fact I was on my way to go see one of the old ancient world wonders (Angkor Wat). The fact that I had the money, time, & resources to do so—and travel the world 🌎
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This perspired bus ride inspired me to focus on ABUNDANCE instead of SCARCITY, a lesson we can all learn from.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Travel has a really good way of humbling you, especially in third-world countries. Read more about my sweaty trip in my new blog post below!

Travel (especially in third-world countries) changes you. Read about my humbling expereince on a bus ride from Thailand to Cambodia.

You're not a car, but you burnout like one.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You get a new idea. You start a new project. You've got your eyes on the prize and speed your way towards your goal whilst also juggling a million other things on your ever-growing to-do list until you reach a point where you physically, mentally, and emotionally shut down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Does this sound like you?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It isn't because you are trying to do TOO much; it's about HOW you're doing it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Read how to recognize burnout, overcome it, and crush your goals in the article below.

Burnout doesn't just happen to cars...it happens to you too! Read how to beat burnout and keep racing towards your goals.

Confidence and courage are the two guiding factors in making potent and lasting change in our lives. Change, although feared by some people, is something that should be sought after every single day. Because if you’re not changing, you’re not growing. And if you’re not growing, you’re not living. Everything that is alive in our world grows. The plants, the animals, the people—all of these things experience change. [ 1,697 more word ]

Let’s talk about LONELINESS (because I know we’re all feeling it a little bit right now 🤫)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of us are AFRAID of being alone, and it’s times like these that really bring that FEAR to the light.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re social creatures. We crave connection, shared experiences, and relationships with others...but what about with the relationship with OURSELVES?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Living abroad (and alone) this past year has taught me the power of being alone, so this self-isolation is nothing more than an OPPORTUNITY to go inward and work on strengthening my SOLITUDE. And it’s an opportunity for all of YOU to do the same!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So lean into your loneliness, don’t run away from it. Don’t try to distract yourself. YOU are the only person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with...fall in LOVE with yourself. And be OKAY with being alone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Read more about the insight I gained from living abroad alone in my blog post “Being Okay with Being Alone: Lessons from Solo Travel”

I NEVER saw myself being a teacher. Tbh, I’ve never really been a fan of little kids 😆. So teaching English abroad was definitely a challenge for me...but if you don’t CHALLENGE yourself, you’ll never realize what you can BECOME 🔑
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I taught these kids English, but they taught me perseverance, patience, forgiveness, creativity, understanding, and positivity ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They taught me how to LEARN, how to LEAD, and how to LOVE ♥️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Becoming an ESL teacher has given me a new perspective on the profession, and granted me a huge amount of RESPECT for all the teachers out there. Teachers play such a CRUCIAL role in the upbringing of a child and deserve a vast amount of credit for their daily HARD work 👏🏻👏🏻

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And stay tuned for “Teaching in Thailand: Part 2”—written after finishing my one year contract—that I’ll be launching tomorrow ⏳

If it doesn’t CHALLENGE you, it won’t CHANGE you. Grateful for the growth, perspective, and change this venture has brought me 🙏🏻

Temples are the highlight of Southeast Asian culture, thus making them a huge tourist attraction. Although they are popular among travelers, it's important to remember that they were not originally created for tourism--but for worship--thus we must respect these sacred spaces.

To learn more about this, I've featured a guest post on my blog from my newly found yoga-traveling-blogger friends Whitney Reynolds "Tips for Visiting a Temple in SE Asia".

Stay kind and courteous with your tourism,

Are you a “hit the snooze 3 times, roll out of bed and check your phone right away, make coffee then head off to work” type of person?
I used to be 🙋🏼‍♀️... until I realized the IMPORTANCE of a morning routine and how it establishes your MINDSET thoughout the rest of the day.

🐚 Uluwatu and Kuta—My Favorite and Least Favorite Cities in Bali 🐚
Part 3 of my 3-part blog post series about Bali is finally out❗️
Kuta and Uluwatu were my last stops on my Bali Holi-day ✈️✈️
After getting into Kuta and not vibing with the city at all, I escaped to Uluwatu for a day full of exploration, relaxation—and experienced a great amount of generosity and luck 🍀
Travel doesn’t always go as planned, and sometimes our expectations of a destination fall short. Whenever this happens to me, I let go of control and channel a little spontaneity as I change course...and this ends up resulting in some of my most memorable moments 💫

I spent the last day of my Bali-holiday in the picturesque city of Uluwatu, not according to my intended plan, but by aversion of the city that I was originally staying in—Kuta. Here’s the story of how I discovered my favorite, and least favorite, cities in Bali. Main Entrance @ …

Canggu was my second stop on my Bali Holi-day. This cute little beach town reminded me of So-Cal, just more motorbikes and less expensive 🤑
I continued to try some of the BEST food I’ve ever tasted (including vegan Nutella 😍) and enjoyed my time chillin’ on the black-sand beaches along the coast, soaking up the sun and scoping out surfers 😉
