Event: London to Brighton 2024 Commemorative Run
On November 14, 1896, the British Motor Car Club celebrated legislation raising the legal speed limit from 4mph to 14mph with the Motor Car Tour to Brighton. Now known as the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the event continues to the present day and OECC’s Vancouver Coast Branch has been celebrating it since the hundredth anniversary in 1996.

We have had a great year with lots of car shows, but the season is winding down. But on Saturday head out to the Mt Lehman Fair Car Show, then over the bridge to Mission Raceway Park, then after the races go to Agassiz Speedway for an awesome night of racing!!!

This is an incredibly light weekend for car events in the lower mainland so there is no excuse not to come to Mission Raceway Park for Doorwarz 12!! If you have not been to the drag races at MRP lately, this is a great opportunity to see some awesome racing!

If you are not in the lower mainland check out a great couple of cool cats car show in Keromeos….the Big Daddy’s Hot Rod Roundup Car Show is on all weekend and the admission gets you into the Dance Saturday night.

Although the weekend is light for events, Monday, Canada Day, has lots of shows, I have been to the Jelly Bean show at the old Langley speedway a few times and it is awesome. Take note of the new parking regulations while construction is ongoing.

Info: There is no parking on 208th Ave. We have parking by the track for our mobility challenged friends and plenty of guest parking upstairs, so come and join in the fun.
Everyone will do one lap of the historic Langley Speedway, then be usured to their parking spot on the track level. Please follow the guidance of the parking volunteers in order for them to keep it going smoothly.
If a car club wants to park together, make sure you make arrangements beforehand to enable us to reserve a spot for you all to park together.
11AM – We’ll all sing the National Anthem by the band stand
No exit until12 noon (this is done for peoples safety and traffic congestion on 208th)
208th street has fresh pavement on it from 16th Ave up to the gate which is great news because there will not be a “dust bowl” at the entry

I am super stoked to head out to Mission Raceway Park for the Road Racing. Many of you know I love drag racing, but my first love has always been Road racing. I spend many afternoons at Westwood watching the cars battle it out and if you want to see wheel to wheel action come out to Mission tomorrow or Sunday. But there is also racing at Agassiz Speedway, Saratoga Speedway, and Penticton Speedway, so all of you up at the Peach City Cruise, head to the races at night.
Sunday I will start at the Stay Gold Show and then out to the Chilliwack show….or vice versa.
