Very happy to be getting these dialed in. These are version 3 or 4. I sacrificed lights for better performance and also shortened stick and cord to properly mimic my daily use chucks

Sometimes it's easy to forget Nunchaku practice is exercise. Personally, I find it fascinating that so much health and fitness seems to be the secret core of achieving solid techniques. F.I.D. Frequency, Intensity, Duration- In my mind that's the key formula to use. How often are you practicing, how intensely, and for how long? It can be applied conceptually to the whole practice or applied to a singular move. Depending on goals and circumstances we adjust our FID's to reach our goals more efficiently and effectively.

I use a variety of different nunchaku with different weight and size but my favorite and the one I use the most is what I consider a medium size. 11 inch stick under 3/4 inch diameter an aprox 4 inch cord between 180 and 220g

The daily grind I love putting on some music and studying practice clips. It's almost like practicing twice, a good way to notice small details and see what is really working well vs what needs improvement plus I end up with a fun progress highlight video I can share with friends ✌️😁

Always fun to get out the old dino chucks

Moves can be learned through study and observation as easily as from a teacher it just depends on ones approach. I've been trying to understand my approach, locate flaws in my thinking and I find alot all the time. My goal is to learn my own way of doing things but I want it to actually be good, have rhyme and reason that actually adds up. Its the biggest puzzle I've ever tried to solve. Being satisfied with time spent on the art is what matters most to me. Skill and ability definitely increases consistently and I believe there is faster ways to accomplish various goals such as specific tricks or combos but none of that really matters unless things are rewarding in some way. I've concluded that health is my biggest reward from nunchaku use. It keeps me more active and fit bottoming is I have methods that suit my needs. I have fun getting exercise from the moves tricks and combos. For me Getting the exercise matters more than mastery of specific moves. Working at timing and rhythm while studying concepts. Its a slower method but I belief its right for me

Keyword and vocabulary pondering

I believe Nunchaku use is highly complex in its application. Very multifaceted. Its original adaption is a weapon. However, it can also be a tool for mental and physical improvement, but it doesn't stop there it is also used for sport, Art, and personal expression. In many places, it has traditional and cultural elements that many learn and continue passing to others. Knowing what aspects interest me helps define my activity and gives direction for improvement.

It's easy to get lost pondering semantics of various terminology, but also essential to consider and find my way through it. To avoid getting too confused, I'm looking at just a small handful of terms in this piece of writing-

A DISCIPLINE: A branch of knowledge, typically one studied in higher education

ART: The various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance.

PRACTICE:
(A) The customary, habitual, or expected procedure or way of doing something.
( B ) (an activity) or exercise (a skill) repeatedly or regularly to improve or maintain one's proficiency.
carry out or perform
(C) (a particular activity, method, or custom) habitually or regularly.

The question to myself is, what one of those? -Is most accurate to how I spend time with my chucks. It has to be practice and then Art, I don't have a discipline yet, but I consider myself to be making one. I'm interested in an "Art" of my own and believe I need a "Discipline" to back it up, SO I "Practice practice practice". LOL, of course, practice is itself a very multifaceted term, and SO IT CAN'T BE RIGHT. If that is the case, what am I doing??? The answer is a "Study" I have a study practice that I am building into a discipline to demonstrate my Art?

These are just thoughts and are still subject to change as I learn, but for the moment, I feel I can think a bit clearer and move more purposefully.
I want to have a discipline for combat thinking but have freedom for art/expression. This will require more study, practice, and reflection.

🧬How to get started Chucking.
Step one. Pick your main interest, here are Examples-
Flow art 🎧🎭🎆
Freestyle 🏁🔝🏆
Exercise💪
Meditation☯️
Combat/Defense✊☠️
Traditional Martial Arts🥋
I listed those in the order of my priorities but perhaps you only care about one or two from this list, It is up to you to decide what you want 🤘😁

After figuring out what style you want to spend time practicing you can choose a Chuck that is best suited for you and that task, there are many types and sizes to choose from and it will make a big difference having the "right tool for the job"

I highly encourage people to consider their specific interests for chucks is it will make it easier to find a community of some sort that you can interact with and learn from. Hopefully, make great friends, and share knowledge together.
