Fancy an ice bath during your stay? (To balance out all your time in our wood fired sauna, of course.) Little Blue Lake is a chilly 12 degrees year round, and just 5 minutes up the road.

This isn't Greece - this spectacular swimming spot is located right here in South Australia! 💧

Little Blue Lake is located about five hours from Adelaide on the Limestone Coast. You'll find this natural wonder just outside of Mount Gambier, situated amidst farm land and sheep paddocks! 🐑

Although the water might look tempting, the lake has a year-round temperature of just 12 degrees celsius, so you'll be in for a chilly swim! 🥶

We had so much fun speaking to Jess for this piece!

It was a dreary Easter weekend binge-watching Escape to the Chateau that inspired Rachel Gerds and Daniel Billingsley to make the move to SA and create Mountain Path Meadows - their accommodation and wedding venue nestled beneath Mount Schank.

Five years on from that rainy weekend, their picturesque property now features two unique glamping domes and a naturalistic wedding venue set to host “sustainably-minded elopements” and micro-weddings for up to 80 guests.

Hello friends! It feels like it’s about time to introduce ourselves properly.

We’re Dan and Rachel, an Aussie and an American. After we met (and fell in love!) on a Contiki trip in Scandinavia, it didn’t take long for us to start dreaming of one day building a business, a life and family together.

It was a rainy Easter weekend in Brisbane in 2019 when we binge watched and were inspired by Escape To The Chateau — and our dream was solidified: Create a slow life in a natural haven and share its enchantment with our guests during some of the best days of their lives: weddings and holidays!

We so lucky to spend our days building a business that combines (in our humble opinion!) all the best things in life: Nature, togetherness, slowing down and enjoying each other’s company. Our mission is to bring guests closer to nature, and closer to each other.

Each of our skills have come in handy as we build Mountain Path Meadows, with Rachel running things behind the scenes with a decade of marketing experience, and Dan rolling up his sleeves and constructing the physical infrastructure, having grown up with a dad who’s a builder. Along the way, our crew has grown to include our sweet bub (who you won’t really see on our socials) and the newest team member, our Kelpie puppy Jack. 🐶

It’s not without its challenges but we count ourselves so lucky to be able to enjoy family life as we take care of our little slice of paradise here at Mount Schank.
